The e-mail's subject is called "The Armaggeddon Rag" which is also some sort of book, wonder if there's any sort of clue in that.
Mosses, grasses, shrubbery, trees, etc. Think about Fallout 3, how the hell did the ecosystem support giant molerats and such? For their size, they'd have to have low metabolic rates or be actively eating. Given that they're running around attacking people I'd say probably the second. But wait, not every creature in the environment can be a tertiary consumer.
They were attacking people, exactly. They were eating the flesh of the ones they attacked. And the wasteland couldn't support the trees, shrubs, etc., unless it was set very far in the future.
Well, considering these moles kept their appearance mostly the same, they only grew in size, I doubt their digestive system reorganized and became carnivorous. At the most they could become omnivorous but then again, they probably cant digest meat that well.
Mipit either way it happened soo you know shut up a little.
Mipit either way it happened soo you know shut up a little.
Just because it happens in a game, doesn't mean it is realistic and that it is possible in real life.
Fallout 2 has plants, lots of them. There are even huge-ass farms. Mutated plants of course, but plants all the same.
A game doesn't need to be realistic if you did not know. In fact there isn't a game in existence that is 100% realistic soo.
Stop taking Fallout 3 as an accurate representation of the universe, because it isn't. Fallout 2 has all the things you are complaining that are missing, so shut up. Considering that this is made by Interplay, the guys who made the originals, this will have elements from the originals.

If I wanted realistic, everything would be dead because radiation kills. You couldn't sleep in the dirt or drink the water because you would get extreme radiation poisoning. Realism is just asking for something that is possible in real life, or perhaps a little far out, but nothing extreme.
Here's the teaser they sent, for anyone who hasn't signed up yet:
That's weird, I signed up and didn't get it. Well I'm signing up again.

As for the water and food, I'm sure those would still be contaminated.

What you will find is that fungus grows really well close to the reactor. The grass is also alive, and animals live in the zone too. It would have been about 200 years since the great war by that point. The radiation would be minimal in areas that were not directly hit by the bombs. Obviously places like Cheyenne Mountain would still be an irradiated hellhole. You also have to take into account that Ghouls exist. Normal ghouls are not the result of FEV, but gradual radiation exposure. Only one ghoul is a victim of FEV. When you factor FEV into the situation, alot of the radiation doesn't matter so much. FEV was known to have infected everyone who had been exposed to the wasteland for a period of time. Which is what factored into both the Master's and the President's plans for the world, until the vault dweller and his ancestor disrupted their plans. The guys working on New Vegas developed fallout 1 and 2, almost finished 3 and started 4. Interplay have also almost lost the rights to the mmo.
