Sometimes its hard to keep the shrooms at every entrance, because people will destroy them so often. I also like to shroom up mid the most, because when teamfights begin, they can catch somebody out of position making the teamfight much easier. I think Teemo is a balanced champ.

Viable build
no joke.
I saw a maokai with 2 rod of ages,a warmog,atma,sorc boots and a guardian angel

Maokai is a tank/AP. As in build tank and then get AP once you stop fucking dying.
He's like singed in that he's squishy as shit early and then with his ult, etc, he gets insane lategame. Never die. Last ranked game I was 1/5/3 and then ended 10/5/10 because I just couldn't die.
maokai does his damage by letting his teammates do damage.
Start Doran's ring.
Trip back boots one. For boots either go mercs or swiftness.
Then I like to either build aegis or if someone else is getting it do this:
Either negatron or chainvest depending on your lane.
Then build it into Frozen Heart and B veil. Then sunfires. Then FoN. Then Abyssal.
Final build is Boots Aegis Sunfires FH Banshees FoN or Abyssal. I like to let someone else on the team get aegis (janna, taric, n asus, etc) and then get an AP tanky item but whatever. It's up to you.
Kill priority R>E>W>Q. Q is a one point wonder basically.
Played trist, won game, left score screen open whilst doing other stuff, came back, saw that our garren said i played really well. Warmed my heart, wish i could say thanks back.

Also one last maokai thing: My build will have you going well over 200 armour, and it's important to remember that after 200 points into either mitigation, flat HP is more cost effective. HOWEVER items like last whisper and Void staff will make it worthwhile to go over 200 armour and MR.
