For Yi:
Armour Pen reds.
Mp5/lvl yellows
cdr blues
arp, ms or flat ad quints. I'd recommend flat ad quints for the future since they'll be changing the ad rations on most champions (tanky dps) to scale from bonus ad. They'll still work decently on Yi too.

AP is totally the way to go on Yi. Get some AP, Lichbane, Alpha strike = lots of damage, lichbane proc lots of damage, then wuju style lichbane attack lots of damage, then ulti and another lichbane proc lots of damage, someones dead for sure, cooldowns back up, repeat. It's great once the chain gets started because you can keep alpha striking which does a lot of damage once you get some AP going. Not to mention extreme survivability with meditate.

AD works too but I find AP awesome for the lolburst it offers. It can really destroy a team if you get the chain going.

I do. Some enemies manage to run away with less than 200 health to a tower with me having only a little higher amount of health than he does.
That's when ignite comes to play if exhaust is already used.
It's also useful to use ignite on someone running away and start killing a champion nearby that's trying to attack you or is going to kill one of my teammates.
I swear to god, Ignite helps in SO MANY WAYS.
Like, I die after an enemy is with low health and I ignited him, he dies too.
I never could have killed so many champs without ignite.

I don't have any specific runes for Yi.
I generally role 21/0/9, ghost/cleanse.
Start with a long sword, buy avarice blade at 750 gold, finish Youmuu's, buy either Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads, Stark's, Wriggle's, 2 vampire scepters. Build one into Bloodthirster(saving up the 2750 then buying), the other either sell and replace with an AS item or upgrade to Executioner's. I'm actually thinking of trying upgrading it to Bilgewater Cutlass and then Hextech Gunblade, since it seems viable on him.
After finishing Bloodthirster with a full rune set you can apparently solo Baron.(according to [url=http://leaguecraft.com/strategies/guide/7398-the-dark-arts-of-master-yi.xhtml]this[/url] guide.)
Also note that if you use anything other than the Lifesteal build on that guide, I think it says to use 0/21/9 masteries.
