Players who go for kills instead of the objective.
League of Legends sometimes
Buying a sweet weapon, then finding a better one on the ground as soon as you leave the shop.
A list of things I hate in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I have nicknamed it 'Mewt's Law'. 1. If you cast Reflect, only melee units will go after you. 2. If the laws include 'Copy Cat' under Forbidden, your melee units will be silenced. 3. If you are in a level filled with elemental monsters, the laws will forbid the element said monsters are weak to. 4. If you attempt to finish off an enemy before they finish off your healers/debuffers, you will either miss or leave them with one hitpoint. 5. If you fail to check the laws, it will turn out to be 'Fight' and 'Black Magic' 6. Your Hunters and Beastmasters will always miss, especially when the monsters are about to kill your mages. 7. New Recruits are always human Black Mages and Archers, never melee units or White Mages. Chances of them being Bangaas or Viera are next to nothing. 8.If you are going on a hard mission, your high-level mages will be on dispatch missions. 9. Attacks always miss on White Mages and Time Mages. 10. Your units will always be one space away from getting into attack range. Enemy units, on the other hand, will always be in attack range. There are plenty more, but I can't think of anything else.
Realistic RTS with only 4 guys against a fucking base filled with Artillery. AKA Men of war. And no fucking cheats
Recon campers in BC2 ... seriously, grab a LMG, SMG or assult rifle and help the team with the objectives. Don't be typical and choose m60 or AN-94 damnit. I also hate getting accused for hacking for just being pro at a game. I had to change my COD2 name every week since I kept getting vote kicked by people who couldn't handle losing.
He's speaking in slight racing terms I guess. Most of us mean shooters, RPGs, and other games where you're bumrushed like all fuck to complete the objective(s) against large sums of deadly enemies and lots of obstacles with a timer ticking down in the background to your doom.
The timed missions in Mass Effect were the best. In Mass Effect 2, when the bomb timer for Legion's loyalty mission went on, I took it very seriously, I started running and I never stopped, I just pushed geth out of my way and decimated them as I went along, not even the Geth Prime could make me stop. I arrived at the escape hatch with more than half the time left on the clock, kinda anticlimactic actually, should have been more tight. But by far one of the most thrilling missions in the game, and I was extremely disappointed to see it didn't return for the final mission.
Not being able to walk over a 2 inch sidewalk.
Buying a sweet weapon, then finding a better one on the ground as soon as you leave the shop.
Killing Floor :argh:
The AI in L4D and L4D 2. I'm getting jockey'd away and my entire team is running towards me backwards shooting single zombies with their side arms instead of shooting the jockey slowly tearing away my life. By the time it gets off of me I have 10 health.
Falling into lava. Very conveniently placed explosive barrels. Bad animations. Bad voice acting. When your instructions aren't clear and you end up backtracking for two hours trying to find where you're supposed to be going.
Missions where your 3D movement is restricted. You are then placed in the role of a gunner, and only have control of aim. You then must gun down enemies with ridiculous precision whilst the driver of the vehicle takes the meaning of evasive driving too seriously and rants on about how much damage said vehicle is taking. I'm looking at you, helicopter-gunner mission in GTA:Vice City.
Some MAJOR things that bug me: Russians as main bad guys (BC 2 & MW2 & every game today) When all enemies are a from a certain country. (Crysis and darkSector both had all Korean and Russian enemies.
Oh God yes. Just because we're a huge country with lots of firepower and we're not USA (since most of the games are made there), we MUST be the main baddies. What the fuck? And then some 12-year olds who play MW2 will think that Russians are assholes.
Well... America did just catch 11 Russian spies fucking around in their country.
Really the reason for that because typically all Americans think Russians are assholes, mostly because we had so many conflicts in the past not to mention a nuclear missile crisis. Most FPS's today revolve around Russians, within a decade, reclaiming their Communist government and staring to expand their empire again. I like how in Fallout 3, it was China who we fought. China is a communist country (unlike Russia.) and we are already have tensions growing between us (plus they have more nukes than anyone else.) Still, Russian enemies are over used. Russian is not going to do anything to us. I prefer an FPS where US soldiers fight other US soldiers that are from a secret organization.
I'm tired of WW2 games, the average person has killed more Nazis than any soldier in the war. Where are the WW1 games, or the Cold War, etc.
Enemies everywhere Don't forget to reload Doctor Freeman [editline]09:58AM[/editline]
Server admins.
Yeah fuck the police!!
Easy/Normal AI in RTS games that do absolutely retarded things. Take Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, great game, but its AI can be pretty weird. Normal and Easy AIs will constantly try to send land units over water. So, when I go over to their base, I see MILLIONS OF LAND UNITS PACING ON THE COAST, EXPLAINING MY 2 FPS.
people who play tf2 on ps3.
AI that, when you've been shooting at the same spot for 2-3 seconds, run into your stream of bullets and you get punished for it.
Missions where you have to follow someone without getting too close.
Timed missions, of any kind.
You'd kill yourself playing the "Driver" series then.
That 2K can't make NFL games anymore. They made some damn good games.
The water tunnel in blackwater city on ratchet and clank 1. I could never do it until recently :argh:
1.Fucking Grenade Spammers, both Hand and Launchers (I am looking at TF2 and The entire Battlefield Series), And then it pisses me off when the developers try nerfing them and then everybody in the community throws a fit over it. 2. Games that force players to go and stay on the offense(Almost all modern RTS games) 3. When you are trying to defend something in a MP game and nobody helps you because they are too busy trying to counter attack and they ignore you when you need help(TF2), or just in simpler terms, When the team that is supposed to defend goes on the offense and they lose the game because the enemy flanks them and they blame you for it. 4. People that TK you just to get your weapon (Red Orchestra) 5.Players that think because they have more skill than the others, they are superior(All games that have MP) 6.When you join a server and the admin thinks their a fucking god and abuses their power in all ways possible.(Almost all games that have admins) 7.Players that discriminate against other players because of they have a different accent(All games that have ingame VOIP)
When sequels of awesome games get delayed, timed missions, escort missions, senseless story lines
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, the frequent backward and group spawning which gets me killed nearly ALL THE TIME.
Characters who look even the tiniest bit close to this:
2d chararcters. They fucking kill me, protaganists like Nomad, Masterchief, Marcus (from Gears of War) or indeed any main character from MW2. They barely speak but when they do it's always something stupidly patriotic or dedicated to their task, fucking winds me up so much.
- Developers that doesn't listen to their community. :colbert:
