I went via the tracks>Turret route. Engines are last. IMO my damage per battle increased by 1000 damage using the 8.8cm, the 75mm guns just do too little damage.
The VK3002DB like any other medium is good for getting from 1 place to another, much faster than heavies: you don't need the top engine to do that as stock is adequate.
Ah... and I went back to the AT 15 for a few matches for this. Lovely.

And I already got mastery 2nd class on 6th match in stock except tracks VK3002, so I have to admit it's not THAT tragic either, it's still infuriating that it can't mount Konisch.
Me and friend-I-recruited go platooning with Pz38t. We get put in a bullshit match against Russian heavies and we decide that we'll beat them with the power of friendship.
That didn't work and we get our asses handed to us.
In conclusion, having a KV-1 is better than having people who care for you :v:

I have the Ferdinand now (researched, not bought), fully upgraded, but I feel so slow with Jagdpanther IIs flying past me all the damn time. If I ever head back to that line, should I get the Jagdpanther back and go for the II, or just tough it out with the Ferdinand?

I haven't played either but Jagdpanther II sounds like far superior and more fun than Ferdinand to me.

The JP2 is really fun. Same guns as the ferdinand, faster, and hull down it actually has pretty comparable armor.
It is something like 150mm at something like a 60 degree slope, where the ferdi has 203 at a near 90 degree angle. I still bounce plenty of things when I am hull down.
