None of the pre-cracked exes worked for me (the games ran fine, just timed out after 30 mins)
oh well...

Same here..not working
Hi all!
Just wanted to tell you how to stop the REAL timer with Cheat Engine and not just the displayed counter.
Probably why noone found the correct value in Cheat Engine before is because the timer actually does not decrease, it increases! It seems Avalanche was a bit tricky on this one
The adress seems to change every time so there is no definite adress to lock. It always seems to begin in 1A5 though.
1) Start Just Cause 2, trigger the timer by jumping off the platform. Open the PDA by pressing F1 and check what the timer says. Memorize it, or write it down.
2) Alt-tab out and start CheatEngine. In CheatEngine, browse the processes and select JustCause2.exe. Choose 'Unknown initial value' from the 'Scan type' drop-down list, '4 Bytes', and hit the 'First Scan' button.
3) Go in-game again, un-pause and let some time go by.
4) Again, open the PDA and check how many seconds have gone by. Alt-tab back to CheatEngine and search for a new value, this time a 'Value increased by...' (or, as listed by the program, 'Increased value by...'), and enter the appropriate value (the time in seconds that passed) in the 'Value:' box. Hit 'Next Scan'.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you find the correct value, usually an address starting with '1A5'.
6) When found, double-click it to add it to the box below. Freeze it and play for as long as you want.
I can assure you that it works. I have played through the demo for many hours and finished 100% of all the settlements.

Quoting for all you people who are trying the crack exes. This method actually works.
I just recorded a video of me doing the race at night time. Not sure how to encode it though to be HD when I upload it to Youtube..
Where do you find helicopters and planes, can't find any.
There's a Mansion with a Coronel near the place you start at, next to an airfield.
Helicopter - Mansion Roof
Sports Car - Behind the Mansion
Airplane - At the airfield
They're all really close :D
And yeah I'd save you the trouble of having to find the memory address each time by finding the pointer but the game crashes when I use the "find what writes to this address" option on Cheat Engine :(
Just played PS3 demo, incredible game.
But I was wondering, if we can somehow manage to bypass the timer and Leaving demo area notifications? Would be great to see more of it.
EDIT: 2 posts up, I see.
How do I upgrade the hook?

doesn't work for me =(, it'll freeze for a couple minutes then unfreeze, and the timer will jump down to wherever its supposed to be.

This game is so awesome, and yet somehow i can't listen to the voice acting without dying a little inside.
What that game needs is better writers. Hell, even i could do better.
The voice acting is terrible, but not as bad as the first game's.

The voice acting is so bad that even subtitles come on by default :v:
I'd probably enjoy the demo more if it didn't keep crashing on me. :argh:

Then you are doing something wrong
I can't seem to get the time limit thing to stop. And with the cheat engine whenever I 4) Again, open the PDA and check how many seconds have gone by. Alt-tab back to CheatEngine and search for a new value, this time a 'Value increased by...' (or, as listed by the program, 'Increased value by...'), and enter the appropriate value (the time in seconds that passed) in the 'Value:' box. Hit 'Next Scan'. Nothing comes up with next scan. No matter how many tries i give it.
I swear, some of you are spending more time looking for ways to get rid of the timer than actually playing the demo.
I swear, some of you are spending more time looking for ways to get rid of the timer than actually playing the demo.
Because removing the timer would let us spend more time on the demo.
ironically, I wish there were a shorter time limit. it's such a pain in the ass to wait 30mins to test every technique
it seems that the timer stops if I switch to another window too :/
So they talk about how awesome the water looks like on the PC but they don't let you see it in the demo ?
What bullshit is this ? I try to view some water but when I get close to it I just get the countdown from 10 and get kicked out of the game.
So wait, is the demo the full game? Just with a crack-able timer?
So wait, is the demo the full game? Just with a crack-able timer?
The demo has like 1/10 of the whole game area, missions, etc
So wait, is the demo the full game? Just with a crack-able timer?
it's 10% of the map. some missions, a 30 minute timer, some weapons here and there, and if you escape the map it's just a skybox.
I think I may have figured out the time limit thing
There are 2 functions to pay attention to - one called GetDemoTimeLeft and one called ExitDemo. They're both pretty self explanatory. I've edited out the spots where both are being called (I think. I'm not an expert with this stuff)
right now no timer is showing up for me, & at around 8:45 I'll know for sure whether it works.
Just buy the fucker you cheap-ass bastards. its out in like a couple o' weeks.
So, y'know, wear loose trousers to make that permanant erection less noticeable.

Already preordered. So why should you rage if I want to play the demo infinitely when the company already has my money anyways?
