Because it shows our progress easier and we want to get each bar to 100% in hope that maybe one of them will set off the auxiliary power or take a bigger chunk of time off.

That's the main problem with Audiosurf, everyone can help with it.
This whole thing has just been disappointing, with an extra scoop full of "Why do I Give A Fuck?" with each letdown.
I mean, when the counter first appeared, I expected a Sunday Release at the latest. Now it doesn't even seem like we're going to get this until Late Monday.
I know everyone shares the same sentiment, but each day I keep hoping something unexpected occurs. I guess that's my/our fault, but really: it's not fun just to watch bars slowly ticking.

The bars fill up over time, the more people who play the game, the faster the bar fills up. The bar does not represent how many people are playing the game.
Maybe the people playing the other games are a combination of:
a) people playing the games because they want to
b) people who have no knowledge of the ARG
c) people who came from the steam store page, who are also b)

I just realized that even if the bar reaches 100% the game will not be unlocked. The timer will still count down to zero and then unlock and it's likely that getting all the bars to 100% will only remove 12 hours.
