You'll notice the green line, percent completed, always rises at a very regular rate, despite actual player counts (cpu lines) rising and falling wildly. Also note that as one game completes, another game speeds up immediately after.
If percent completed was simply a direct product of players playing the game, we'd see those green lines spiking and plateauing according to the cpu data. However, it appears to me that it only has a very small influence on overall completion, hence why this data fits a mathematical model very well.
