Such a pointless ARG, nothing really amounted to anything. It was awesome, don't get me wrong, but it just kinda died with this grinding, this isn't supporting indie games, it's idling like morons in them.

Yeah. That was good. I liked that.
But they could have left this last part out. In fact, they should have.
Now people are going to look back on this with contempt and will not buy into any indie promotions on Steam in the future.
They didn't have to release the game early. They could've just announced some in-game bonus for everyone who participated and got potatoes.

Release earlier? Does it even matter anymore? It's coming out sometime tomorrow evening or late night. That's about 5 hours give or take a few off of the scheduled release. It's a Sunday night. It's too late for them to be heroes anymore.
If they were going to boost or make it release earlier then it should have been yesterday. Fuck it should have never started and they should have given their primary fanbase the game on Friday so we could have had an entire weekend to experience it. Instead most of the people I know, including myself, won't play till next weekend and probably have it spoiled during the week.

I'm guessing from the overpriceyness and design of those ads, either Walmart or Target. Mind you, I've never been to a target in my life, so I don't know for sure what their ads are.
When they specifically advertise a sale to "Release Portal 2 faster" in it's conclusion, and then have an event that would make the people sick of the games... Which then they learn that it was all pointless, it becomes frustrating.
Thankfully I actually enjoy the games in the pack, and bought it for that reason. I can see why people would hate it, the challenges for the potatoes make you want to never touch the games again.
Please, don't get me wrong. I'm bitter at Valve. I fully support the fact that we helped the indies out here because some of those games are really great. Audiosurf, Killing Floor, Amnesia, these are fantastic games and I encourage everyone to fully enjoy them once this is all over.
However I also know people who bought that pack purely to help Portal 2 release early and that to me is disappointing. I'd imagine some people with the pack will probably never even touch these games after this whole ordeal. It's sad because these games deserve proper support and instead they seem to be pawns in a bigger game.
