Just speculation on my part as when i played BIT.TRIP.BEAT <TEST> it reminded me of Tron Legacy, but it sounds* like Daft Punk helped with the portal 2 soundtrack. Portal 2's "Science can be fun - Featured in BIT.TRIP.BEAT Tron Legacy soundtrack - Composed by Daft Punk
I think we should do toki tori next. 600 people on it, and it's going at ~1% per hour.
As the IRCs have came up with, toki tori will eventually be done by itself so they'd rather do the bigger games which take longer now.
I think we should do toki tori next. 600 people on it, and it's going at ~1% per hour.
Actually I think we should just do our own thing since there appears to be a cpu limit per game. I'd imagine it would be quicker to spread it all out in this case, or just do the bigger games depending on what the limit for it is.
Not really, more than 1 million hours required of total game time. It is of big importance.
In 100 hours of countdown, so 1,000,000 /100 = 10,000 hours to do, we just need more than 10,000 players playing 1 hour of the game. This can clearly be done fast when most of the other games will be dobe.

Agh fuck I'm not sure if my defense grid CHAS thing works. If I can use the "recruit" command, did it DEFINITELY work?

You will have better luck emailing another member of Valve, Gabe is stuck with his automated responses.
except it should be more structured.

No wonder it's so good. Hope they release a soundtrack.

does playing the demo of the potato sack games count? i only have amnesia and it doesnt seem to be doing much
It's on the website. http://www.aperturescience.com/glados@home/ It's 59 now though. OH FUCK YOU REFRESH BUTTON YOU'VE BETRAYED ME FOR THE LAST TIME
I predict that at Midnight (EST time) it will be at 50%
I wasn't aware Daft Punk was helping. No wonder it's so good. Hope they release a soundtrack.
but they didn't help in fact, they have nothing at all to do with Portal 2
does playing the demo of the potato sack games count? i only have amnesia and it doesnt seem to be doing much
Oh it's working, maybe only a little, but it's still contributing, possible even more than a lot of us. (If there is a limit.)
does playing the demo of the potato sack games count? i only have amnesia and it doesnt seem to be doing much
You can get into the login screen, but it won't count it as a potato I've read so far.
You have to be playing the game, in the game, not the menu. Basically you have to be doing what it takes to increase your playtime on Steam.
RustySpannerz;29229411']Oh it's working, maybe only a little, but it's still contributing, possible even more than a lot of us. (If there is a limit.)
well im aware its working, but the more games we actually have completed, the more times gets taken off. and im sure toki toki tori and others will finish well before amnesia so i'd like to put my effort into something more effective
So if there is indeed a CPU limit then we just need to get as many potatoes as possible to trigger the major multiplier. I'm still holding out on the magic number of 314,159 (PI = 3.14159). Still got 5,182 left to go.
Fuuuuuck... I really don't want to pick up more potatoes today. Audiosurf damn near caused me to give up.
So, like the Golden Wrench, Valve has rigged this to not go off to much earlier then planned? Goddamnit Valve, you really know how to piss people off, don't you?
You can get into the login screen, but it won't count it as a potato I've read so far.
im not talking about getting potatos but cpu time. as in, if i play the demo of toki toki tori, will it help increase the cpu usage
well im aware its working, but the more games we actually have completed, the more times gets taken off. and im sure toki toki tori and others will finish well before amnesia so i'd like to put my effort into something more effective
The IRCs figured the smaller games will finish by themselves eventually so they going into games which have been taking longer: http://valvearg.com/wiki/Valve_ARG_Wiki
Is it true that Daft Punk is helping VALVe make music for portal 2?
So, like the Golden Wrench, Valve has rigged this to not go off to much earlier then planned? Goddamnit Valve, you really know how to piss people off, don't you?
This isn't a fact.
Just posted on PotatoFoolsDays group : Regarding Wiki edits publié par Guniv…… -[redacted] @ 02:36AM on April 17, 2011 Guniv…… -[redacted]: If you've been paying attention, everytime a game finishes, the others become easier Guniv…… -[redacted]: so the LOGICAl thing to do is to do the easiest ones Guniv…… -[redacted]: and move up Guniv…… -[redacted]: so that they'll be easier Lattyware, the guy editing the Wiki is using the false logic that going for SMB (one of the most popular games) will go quickly. He bases it on the assumption that the whole of the steam community is participating. But when you look at the GLaDOS@Home page, you can tell that not much is really participating. With SMB being a popular game, it is almost an insurmountable obstacle. So, if we work our way up, it will become progressively easier. Guniv out. Also, Dr. Dougley: "You are looking at it correctly."
everything went better than expected
A man named Mike Morasky composed all of the music in Portal 2. While Daft Punk would be kick ass they have no involvement. [sp] http://www.gamesradar.com/f/portal-2s-dynamic-music-an-interview-with-composer-mike-morasky-and-five-tracks-to-listen-to-now/a-201104121507877073[/sp] It's really not a spoiler but I kind of wanted to use the tag. :)
I'm sure it only takes time off when we complete a game, or get enough potatoes for an overclock. Therefore all these estimated times aren't true. The only thing we can really trust is the main clock... We're better of coordinating, even when we cap it off.
