Can someone please ask Ywa to come on Steam on his talk page.

I'll explain.
He shouldn't have changed it anyway, it pissed people off because they just woke up and got confused etc.
oh hi.
Okay, so IF the aux power kicks in. Who's idea was it that it will go faster?
If there is such a thing as backup power, i think its just a safety net for when people start to get pissed and doesn't idle anymore.
Also:
08:57 - Default boot scheduled to finish in 24:21:25
08:58 - Activating emergency distributed computing grid...
09:00 - GLaDOS@home starting...
09:01 - Recruiting cpus to force faster boot sequence...
The system is already in "emergency mode", why would it have a second one?
I can wait at this point
The estimated time is only an hour and a half ahead now on some, 4 hours ahead on another, but it doesn't matter because I'm not staying up to the current projected launch of 3 AM to play Portal 2 while tired and groggy.

For me its at 9AM instead of like 4PM , so I aint complaining.
I think the 'stop playing' thing might be a
disagreers, I wish I shared your optimism
Well, I'll have it tomorrow, and will play it the first thing I do when I wake up. That's all from me, guys, have a nice day.
Unless something miraculous happens.
Did anyone have problems getting the recruit potato for Defense Grid? I've beaten C.H.A.S. 5 times now (without saves/cheats) and always get the same error in console.
Oh wait, no.
He's blocked me.
Whatever, I'm going out I'm bored of playing potato games, my eyes hurt, and I'm hungry
I'll be clocking back in tomorow morning to play portal 2
Stay classy.

Well they've gone full retard then.
Time for me to start playing some games for fun, because the portal part of this ARG is pretty much over and done with.

Agreed, I may even go play some TF2! Wait no, scratch that, they broke my no hat mod. Damn it.

No hat mod? srsly? You're that petty about it that you refuse to even view the hats other people are wearing? Jeez.
This whole thing seems incredibly pointless now and not even worth the effort anymore. Either way, Portal 2 is going to be released on Tuesday. Either way, I'll be sleeping or at school when it does unlock. So no matter how hard we try to get it released, I and many others still won't even be online when the game unlocks.
It's all just dead weight now.

Could we please stop with the "welp, I give up, see you tomorrow" posts? We know people are doing this already; you don't have to tell us. It just wastes space.

I don't like seeing people with christmas trees on their heads in an FPS. Personal preference really, wouldn't call it petty.
What happened? Why is there so many viewers?
What's with the current focus on the wiki?

gg valve
i'm not even getting my hopes up any more. the most i expect from this is a midnight release
A much better way to test the auxiliary power theory is to get a boat load of people to play killing floor and see if it goes slower, rather getting no one to play killing floor and seeing if it goes faster.
http://cpucount.zapto.org/
Analyzing the graphs on this site, there has been a clear and new discrepancy between the number of users at any time and the rate at which the percentage is increasing. HOWEVER THERE IS NO CLEAR INVERSE RELATION. All I can see is that, very recently, the percentage gain has begun to outstrip the user count for individual games, BUT A RISING USER COUNT IS IN NO WAY SLOWING THIS GAIN DOWN. If anything, the increasing users are causing the current new gains to rise even faster.
The best graph to analyze are the individual games, because you can see the acc. cpu graph in relation to the percentage complete graph. The acc. cpu graph is just the integral of the cpu graph, and through out much of the arg, it has been very close in line with the percentage gain graph (sort of debunking the idea that valve has been silently manipulating the progress through out the past few days). It's only recently, in the last couple of hours, that there has been a noticeable divergence between the two, where the progress has begun to outpace the acc. cpu. This trend has continued despite the rising user counts, so I don't think more people playing is hurting this beneficial discrepancy in any way.
I think a far more likely explanation is that we have simply begun to overclock. It may just be me, but I can see this divergence beginning just around 7:00 gmt, on the graph across all the games. I think it just makes more sense that the overclocking has begun and that the cpus are now counting for much more, than any sort of auxiliary supplement coming from a flagging user base.

It says "The Ball".
It really looks like people all gave up - this morning we were able to play Portal 2 at around midnight for me, now it's 2:30 AM Tuesday.
[editline]18th April 2011[/editline]
Going at 1% total an hour too, when we were about 1.5 % yesterday and saturday.
My theory is that Portal 2 will get released in 10 hours. Following the previous 2 days progress, there has been roughly 30% every 24 hours. Take that to 90%, which then makes 72 hours. Then to get the last 10%, you would divide 24 by 3, to get 8. Add that onto the 72, and you get 80 hours. We are currently at roughly 70 hours in, with 80%. This will be proven by how far we can get in the next 2 hours. If we can get to 90%, then my theory still stands. If not, then I might see if I can recalculate the hours to see what sorts of time we might get it at.

That was me attempting to alert people to the auxiliary power situation.
But apparently they don't care. I was banned.

I assume that's just because those were weekends, and this is a weekday, so people aren't able to play as much?

Well yeah, if you didn't talk about that with admin, I'd see why they'd ban you.
They prob. think you gave up as well.
