That is fake, for the 100th time.
So, I know I've said before that the ARG would make an awesome movie, but I've refined the idea somewhat:
In the movie, the ARG is only Act 1, and is actually an elaborate trap set up by an AI created by accident at Valve. During the countdown - the current one - a group of people who were catalysts in the ARG get fed up and decide to go to the Valve offices to complain. When they arrive, they find the place abandoned, with a robotic voice speaking over the intercom:
[i]Tell them everything is fine.
Tell them you are one of them.
Tell them you breathe, and eat, and sleep.
Tell them you are normal.[/i]
When they exit the building confused, they slowly realize that everyone is gone; everyone but those involved in the "ARG". In Act 2, the AI is hunting them down, seeking to harvest those "advanced" enough to crack the ARG to boost his own intelligence - or something. I didn't think about Act 2 much, but in the end, only one of them manages to remain free. By now, every single speaker system in the world is broadcasting the message. Act 3 kicks off when our lone survivor finds his friends, held captive somewhere, and then I got distracted and really stopped thinking about the plot.
So yeah, the idea still isn't worked out, but admit that you'd go see the movie. Or at least the trailer.
