Tried it, but everything got fucked. There were zones for commercial and industrial and there were buildings on them but they wouldn't go to fucking work and demand just asked for more residential.
Never zone high density first. There is a reason "build out and then up" is sort of the motto of simcity. Zone low density and get transportation organized then slowely zone up so people can move in to bigger shit.
I still remember the old collab, I still have that region on my dropbox.
I still remember the old collab, I still have that region on my dropbox.
Could upload it for everyone else. (unrelevant, Hawaii is now uploaded to the official folder, made a back up of my city in such cases of corruption, tho my city is already turning a 600+ dollar profit and only 180 dollar loss. every month.
So i figured out why 2 of my cities are broken if you look at this screenshot you can see ocean view and forest port's highways are marked black but they are meant to be marked in red [T]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/902113149316247438/9467F2162EB592BF0FDE3DF4D1B733CFE58C63B1/[/T] I dont know what did this but it crashes the game when i go in those cities :(
Are trains only usefull at the beggining of the game?
Are trains only usefull at the beggining of the game?
trains are always good, i like to have train lines running in all my cities to move freight and passengers [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] they can sometimes be a pain in the ass to put in though if you already have a large city, so i try to build the train tracks first then build the city around them
Sent PM to OP, installing game right now...
I'm not in the collab, but i'll ask it anyway. When zoning things like residential and business, should I just start as high density residential? I'm pretty sure low will still build there, but I don't wanna have to go through and rezone everything so buildings will upgrade...
Low and medium densities will build on high density zones, but as soon as you hit 26k you are screwed. You get mad traffic and demand problems if you aren't prepared because at that stage, one high density apartment can wipe out an entire column of demand and clog up an entire avenue. Usually, other demands can't keep up the pace so your population either uses a neighbour connection for jobs or abandons. But because the population is so high in comparison to the rest of the city, the building will phase in and out of abandonment. This is a real big problem if you have a bunch of high-rises building all at once. Relatively high populations can be achieved with very little high-density buildings. A good strategy might be to let those medium density business zones fill up with those Vu Blue Jeans, Aggajinadeadad Incorporated, and Brink Real Estate. These have extremely versatile lot sizes and very good density. Then, near an area where jobs are understaffed or have few customers, zone just one 4x4 residential tile. The densest building in the game excluding distressed high wealth buildings in Hamster Tenements, in the Houston 1990 style. In holds just over 8000 people, just barely beating out Project Feelgood in the New York style. If this zone is placed correctly, as many as 7000 will inhabit this building and work within 40 tiles of it. If you don't make it historical, it'll be replaced by a middle class building as wealth and education increases in that neighbourhood. You could get as many as 4200 with something like Zaidi Apartments (also Houston). Anyway, small nodes of residential like these will give you large populations and low commute times while avoiding swathes of abandoned buildings. In short, it is far better for your city to start with medium density, especially considering that as you zone high density, you will be rezoning far from everything.

Is it alright if I add some Seawalls and Retaining walls to the plugins on dropbox? Also, CSK2 mod has some missing dependencies, probably the Barges.
I'm having serious traffic problems and I have no idea what to do, I love seeing cars crashing so it's fine to me :v: Also all my commercial demand is negative.
If you have traffic problems destroy the street and make it a avanue always seems to work for me. Also kawaii mountain is born~!.
If you have traffic problems destroy the street and make it a avanue always seems to work for me. Also kawaii mountain is born~!.
Where? Also, the hell is this? And why is the description in spanish? ( http://steamcommunity.com/id/lurkys302/screenshots/ trying to upload image but steam screenshots broke...)
I'm having serious traffic problems and I have no idea what to do, I love seeing cars crashing so it's fine to me :v: Also all my commercial demand is negative.
Always try to have roads, and a few avenues to light up the load, also, don't try to have as many road junctions, as you can see, the cars has to stop 3 times or more to pass one of those roads, always try to keep roads connected to each other in such a way that there is no more than 1 junction.
Does a "not so legal" SC4 work or do I need to find my disk
Should do, all it requires is linking the dropbox region and plugins folder to the ones in your documents.
Why have the cities been moved? EDIT: Who's messing with the dropbox folder :v:
Does a "not so legal" SC4 work or do I need to find my disk
It should work. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] Just make sure it's deluxe edition.

It's Scrooge Mc Duck vault and it gives 5,000,000$ per month I think.

"crash," per se, for me. The game closes without warning, but then it comes right back up and the city is loaded. That is still really strange, but it still works so I guess it's ok? [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
I deleted one road wich was really problematic and now all my traffic is green. wat Can we have the Spanish mod removed?
Does a "not so legal" SC4 work or do I need to find my disk
Illegal works to yes.
Also I was thinking of getting rid of that huge Seaport mod? Rate if you want it gone or if you want to keep it. It's the one that is supposed to extend Seaport creation and has a whole bunch of buttons that clutters the menu. It is NOT the Garbage one, though. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
Does a "not so legal" SC4 work or do I need to find my disk
Yeah, we already have someone using a "less-than-legal" copy, and as far as I know his cities are still good. Just for the record or any mods that come this way, I am not recommending or suggesting people use an illegal copy, I'm just saying that it won't affect the collaboration in any way if they do. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] Also I'm going mod shopping. What kind of mods do you guys want?
Do we have to be amazingly good at building cities to join in or can we be the worst city designers known to man and screw up a city plot or two?
I'm using the Seaport mod so I'd rather we kept it.
Do we have to be amazingly good at building cities to join in or can we be the worst city designers known to man and screw up a city plot or two?
I don't care. If it's really bugging people, I'll just make more plots :v:
Oh boy oh boy. Time to read up the op and install the game tomorrow then. This is going to hurt.
We should get rid of the geothermal power plants. Ridicilously overpowered. It's basically a coal powerplant but better in every way possible.
I would, but too many people already have them in their cities and I don't want to risk corruption.
Also I'm going mod shopping. What kind of mods do you guys want?
I'd like to see some that help develop more commercial districts.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/OSu5YGv.jpg[/t] WHY DOES THIS KEEP FUCKING HAPPENING THERES INDUSTRIAL, COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL ZONES, ALL LOW. YOU HAVE WATER AND POWER. WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO. BECAUSE I'M GETTING PISSED OFF. [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME [t]http://i.imgur.com/6RmMgCd.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/EMMtfGn.jpg[/t] MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU WILL GO TO FUCKING WORK.
I'm sorry to ask here, but since we don't really have a simcity 4 thread anywhere, i'd like to ask anyone in here if they know how to mod for SC4?
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
