best part of DS3 is the weapon crafting for sure, it's just great how everyone's got their own preferred and mostly unique weapons that they've devised on their own. definitely the highlight of the game for me
I can't wrap my head around the idea of solo-only missions. Isn't that like the whole game?

This one??
Been playing DS3 for most of the day. The crafting system is cool and all, but even though I'm scavenging my ass off, it feels like I'll never even scratch the surface of the weapons that can be crafted. I don't exactly feel like EA is FORCING me to pay money for resources, but I do feel like I'll end up missing a significant portion of the game unless I grind through it over and over again, which I don't plan on doing.
Still, blasting necromorphs is still fun and there are plenty of big, cool set pieces. I like jetting around the ship graveyard in particular. But I'm a good 20 or 30% through the game and still using the starting weapons.
Or this one???

yeah.
but at higher resolutions it's off definitely. i'm playing on a ps3 on a SD TV
actually when quoted it looks more like it does in game
Y'know, I've heard something about that Moon, that apparently it's [sp]a supergiant Necromorph/Lovecraftian horror that seeks to consume all life[/sp]. And THEN there's the matter of the chapter names and what they spell out; [sp]BROTHER MOONS ARE AWAKE[/sp] or something like that, implying that [sp]there are more of those things out there in the universe, and that the others are waking up[/sp].
So yeah. I've got a feeling this isn't over yet.
[sp] I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't the Marker homeworld you were at. The origins of the Marker is still unknown after 3 games [/sp]

I really want it to be over, actually.
Isaac should [sp]just stay dead[/sp].

Good mystery is what fuels horror a lot of the time, in my opinion.

Never co-op with randoms. They'll rush ahead and then yell at you over the mic for not hauloing ass

Well then you better start hauling ass!
seriously though are there any bros who just want to play the full game in co-op?
Everyone I add only wants to do the three Carver missions, I wanna play the whole game with a friend

This is a shot in the dark, but I think that [sp]the origin of the Markers IS the Brethren Moons. The Markers that you use to damage the Tau Volantis Moon may not have been from the planet, but manufactured inside of the Moon so that it can seed other planets with Markers. This would allow humanity and any other space-fairing civilizations to find the Markers and eventually initiate Convergence, allowing the Brethren Moon to reproduce.[/sp]
I think the Markers were built by the Reapers.

[sp]Didn't it say the moons made them to feed?[/sp]

[sp] I thought the markers you shot at the moon were "replicas" of a real marker made by the alien civilization on Tau Volantis, because you could find the same looking markers all over the alien city. But what puzzles me is that marker replicas are red, not black. [/sp]
no the reapers made them or some shit
and convergence and a reaper harvest is sorta the same thing
Dead Space 4 and Mass Effect 4 will have co-op between games

Just look around, you will find more than enough resources and weapon parts. As far as weapon crafting goes those purchasable packs won't give you new engines/modules just tips and rarely attachments. And shitload of resources that you can only really spend on suit upgrades because rest is pretty cheap or you will have enough of it.
[QUOTE=booster;39775033][sp] I was kinda disappointed that it wasn't the Marker homeworld you were at. The origins of the Marker is still unknown after 3 games [/sp][/QUOTE]
we should really know as little as possible about the markers imo
[editline]2nd March 2013[/editline]
in my opinion the main focus of the game should go back to surviving than plot.
[editline]2nd March 2013[/editline]
hence why we need a new character.
But I like Isaac. :(
Yeah, I'd love to go back to just surviving but I fear Isaac is too much involved and experienced that it wouldn't work with him too much.
I'd love to see isaac die one of those PC deaths and for it to be canon for once
that would actually be a great opener. you're faced with impossible odds and basically you're set up from the start to fail
but after he dies it turns out it's not the end of the game.
I wish they wouldn't have killed Tim off at the Prologue.
god a game set during the resource wars would be a PERFECT reboot.
[editline]2nd March 2013[/editline]
well not reboot but change of course into the more original dead space direction.

Dead Space 4: Original Aegis VII Incident?
am I the only one who is seriously irked that the Plasma Cutter is useless
I loved the idea of using mining tools but in Dead Space 3 the only gun I found that wasn't a sack of shit was an Assault Rifle with a masterkey which is the most boring gun ever.
The fact that the plasma cutter can only get 4 upgrades is fucking stupid, it should get 8 instead of 4.
at least the Ripper is still OP as hell, Ripper + Flamethrower is my ultimate destruction tool besides the AR/Masterkey
Basically I've had the same loadout since about the 5th mission or so
The rivet pistol with an electrocution module on it is really fun.
[editline]2nd March 2013[/editline]
i think the rivet pistol is the coolest pistol. it's magazine moves to the right each time you fire it.
the revolver would be coolest if it didn't have that dumb aiming thing.
I only tested the rivet gun in the weapon crafting area but it seems to be the Plasma Cutter of DS3. I'm pissed they nerfed the cutter to hell.
Flamethrower at least still kills everything quick but I miss my huge clip size (which applies to almost every other weapon).
And I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but the Ripper seemed completely useless in DS3. At least against the tougher enemies, even on Normal.
Dead Space 2 is overall much better in execution. The part where you visit Ishimura again was creepy as hell.
Dead Space 1 has better atmosphere.
Dead Space 3 is more action oriented. Never felt the tension and horror.
