• Is MW2 an unbalanced game? If so, how badly?
Too much content.
The stupidest excuse ever.
But the grenade launcher in BC2 is only effective in enclosed spaces and is used against cover more than people. The grenade launcher in MW2 is a win button with infinite ammo if you use scavenger pro, which 90% of people do.
I beg to differ. The more I play (BC2), the more I'm observing that the grenade launcher is an insta-kill button with a big splash range. Plus, since Assaults have ammo packs, they never run out of ammo.
I hate people who use the riot shield when I have no explosives or flash/stun grenades. All I can do is backpedal shooting trying to shoot around the shield or run like hell into a position behind him.
Way too unbalanced. Pretty much every gun is way too different in efficiency, example : The F2000 and the other gun which looked similiar both have the SAME damage as the SCAR, but are WAY inferior at range because the gun instantly makes you aim somewhere else with way too big recoil. This is same with the UMP and ALL OTHER SUBMACHINE GUNS. The fact lower level people don't have IMPORTANT stuff that high level people have, example : STINGER. The Stinger is probably the only rocket launcher effective against enemy killstreaks, all other rocketlaunchers usually take way too much time to destroy them.

The more I play (BC2), the more I'm observing that the grenade launcher is a decent weapon used mainly for taking out groups of enemies or walls of buildings with a substantially smaller splash range that people seem to be noticing. Plus, it's pretty easy to kill someone while reloading a grenade launcher because it takes a few seconds, and the chance of being hit while running at a grenadier is pretty low, I've tried.
Very hard to just join in as you have horrible weapons at the start. Not user friendly in the slightest.
It's balanced in Hardcore mode since you can barely take burst of bullets, in the normal mode it take a good few secconds of focus to kill an opponent.
What the fuck are you on about this game is the bset ever biatch i r pro 1337xxxsnipurcomb0pro man. :downs:
Did you pay Fox News to make this poll?
The problem is killstreaks. The way that it works, people who are better get better. Where the people who are not so good get obliterated by people who are better or just lucky because they get killstreak bonuses. Take a game like Mario Kart, if you're in last place, you're likely to get a blue shell or a lighting strike to help you out. This requires that the people who are better become better out of their own skill, not through the game's handouts. If you're a great Mario Kart player, you can handle anything that is thrown at you. Where as if you're just as good as the guy in last place, it would become an even match most of the game. In Call of Duty, because so little skill takes place in shooting and retaliating, players with even skill come down to luck. It's not a fighting game. And once you get so many kills, you guarantee yourself more. In Mario Kart, the further ahead you are, the harder it becomes and the game expects more from you, because if you're so good to be in first place, you should be able to handle the worst the game has to offer. But Call of Duty just makes the game easier for the people who do well. Which is not the right approach.
Join the cool kids and play TF2 :smug:
Join the cool kids and play TF2 :smug:
I do believe all the cool kids play Section 8.
Where's the "MW2 is pretty unbalanced, but otherwise an okay game" option? Oh, of course, poll options HAVE to be extremely biased.
Says the guy with the MW2 icon. I mean seriously, did IW THINK when they made this game?
The problem is killstreaks. :words:
This man speaks truth. Any game that purports to be "fair and balanced" requires a way of levelling the playing field, and handicapping good players (who'll learn to deal with it) and buffing poor players (to offset the skill deficit) is a great way of doing that. Now, that isn't always fun, so such a handicap system should be a game option - but that's one way to properly balance a game. Besides, the moment I heard about the killstreak reward system, I laughed at any argument that the multiplayer would be balanced.
The, "noobtube," is unavoidable; even in BC2.
I'm already rank 10 in BC2 and I'venever been killed with a noob tube yet. (I didn't put my rank to show off, I put it there because rank 10 requires a decent amount of gameplay, it's not like in MW2 where you can get to 10 in an hour.)
90% of the time you're up against folks who are at least twice your level and equipped with gear far superior to anything available to you.
They do get better stuff, but the starting weapons are still great. The M4 and FAMAS are extremely good, the UMP is pretty much the best SMG, and the Barret and Intervention are awesome. When I prestiged I did not have a gear problem.
How is MW2 unbalanced when everyone has access to the same weapons and perks
Yes, everyone has access to the same weapons and perks. But the problem is synergy. There are several perk slots and a ton of weapon mods; one person with an excellent, synergistic build is enough to ruin a match for everyone else. Case in point, noob tube + Claymores + One-Man Army + Harrier Strike + Chopper-Gunner + Terminal = Other team can't do SHIT.

It is truly a great game, but people who played it has become spoiled brats, hence the small amount of ignorant fucks who don't like BC2.
Looks like the OP thinks negatively about MW2. I have never played MW2. I have MW1 and WAW only but i'm not even interested about MW2.
arcade shooters don't need to be balanced
I also beg to differ.
I agree with you, and beg to differ with the person you begged to differ with. Without the grenade launcher the assault class is signifigantly less useful. It is an instrumental cover-removing tool. I can't tell you how many times I have fucked up some enemy sniper's plans. When used properly its awsome for giving away their positions. For instance, I was dueling a sniper with my M416 in the final push for the last Mcom on Nelson Harbor. He was on the top floor of those green modular buildings. One grenade launch later and the front wall of the prefab was gone with the sniper standing out in the open. Spotted him, and the recon next to me took him out. I find it to be routinely used to either kill or force out dug-in enemies from cover. [editline]03:10PM[/editline]
arcade shooters don't need to be balanced
If they are free, I agree with you. When I have to pay 60$ for it, I expect the developers to have an inkling of how to make a balanced game.
Another thread with another kid crying about how another kid is better than him so he blames the game. Get over it. Really, it's a game.
