i've been playing this game a lot more for the past couple weeks, i think i'm addicted. i just beat mom's heart for the first time, then again when i was trying out judas for the first time.

I'm new to Isaac, and I find that Widow is one tough douchecanoe.

Yay, I finally beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] for my first time today. As Samson no less. I feel accomplished.

Decided to try to beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] with ???. Start a new game. Spawned next to treasure room, cool. Got spelunker helmet. Okay, cool, not too bad for a start, I guess. Got 3 different locked chests, discovered two secret rooms without going inside. No bombs or keys on that floor. Died at boss fight against Famine, and honestly, I don't even know how it happened. I'm off my game today.

The last challenge still won't unlock for me. I've done the requirements needed for it. Fix this shit.

Polyphemus, Blood of the Martyr, Lump of Coal, Tech 2, Robo baby, Mulligan Hell yea mother fucker. Insta kill lasers that summon blue flies.

I found polyphemus only once, I loved it tho.

Lol, with counterfeit penny you make a profit when you get hit by greed. Also, all challenges complete!

I just finished playing a game of pre-DLC Isaac and I must say I do enjoy it a lot more. I'm probably just saying that because of how many bugs are in the DLC version of the game at the moment but I can't complain anymore seeing I have both copies!

I found a devil beggar when I was on full HP. I gave him a heart, nothing. I gave him another heart, nothing. This continued until I had 1 heart left, and he finally dropped something: a tarot card. The Fool. Fuck you too, devil beggar.

Devil Beggers are huge assholes. Everytime he's crossed my path I've given him tons of hearts and he usually gives me [i]nothing[/i]. Never using him again.

Funny how I have the most trouble regarding health with Maggy, when with every other character I'm doing ok most of the time.

I got 'the parasite' from a heart beggar after 3 hearts.

all three times i've used a heart begger i've given him 6-10 heart halves and gotten nothing. he's a dick.

Finally got Platinum God, however Dark Boy is still a pain in the ass to get.

Beat Mom's Heart on my first try. I feel FANTASTIC.

The problem with this is that the regular beggar accepts money -- a far more plentiful resource. I feel that using a Demon Beggar is a complete waste of time if there's a Blood Bank on the map, at least then I have a guaranteed payout of money at the very least. Hell, I only have used the Demon Beggar in order to activate Whore of Babylon and that's all I've really used him for, he takes far too much health before paying out, I feel. The same goes for the Spike rooms, for taking off a full heart on each hit, they sure don't pay out that often, and rarely with solid items (unless you're scraping the bottom of the barrel in an attempt to get a key or bomb).

Why is everyone hating on Devil Beggar? He once gave me an Oujia Board for two whole hearts. Spike rooms are completely useless, thought. They usually give a gold chest when I die to them

Since there's a high chance of him winning with the beggar cups he can build up a surplus of hearts and then get more money.

Ipecac is quite a risky item; combine it with My Reflection and you can kiss your run goodbye. Same goes for the 3 dollar bill, since My Reflection is a possible random tear effect, and if the Troll Engine is feeling particularly naughty, it'll give you My Reflection on the final boss fight.

I also remember when blood banks dropped blood bags. Ipecac and spoon bender would be the best thing ever. I miss brimstone.

If you have surplus hearts, this easily allows you to get a ton of money. Charm of the Vampire, Little C.H.A.D., Isaac's Fork, Tick, and Bloody Penny pair especially well with it. Tack on a Money=Power and you'll be doing lots more damage in no time and have plenty of money to clean out any upcoming shops, pay every single beggar, and still have more than enough cash to spare by the time you reach the Womb.
