While intended as a joke character (quite obvious given his starting item), ??? has a very niche set of items that he pairs exceptionally well with.
Any item that is activated upon being brought down to low health is always active for him. Whore of Babylon, Polaroid, Umbilical Cord, Scapular, and so on. It also means that he will always have access to challenge rooms, both ones that require full health and 1 health.
While he does suffer the inability to use red hearts in any manner, he is probably the best character to use trinkets with (excluding Bloody Penny and Cursed Skull).
I have a better time playing ??? than I do with Eve.
For fucks sake, I've been trying to get back to it lives with Eve all day, and I've been consistently running into some useless item rather than damage up items which makes Eve viable.
At this point, if I don't get a damage up item from the basement, I just re-roll.
Starting with minimum damage is so fucking hard.
Why do I keep getting the first ending everytime I play challenges? I've beaten a few challenges by beating just the second floor boss too, what the hell?

I know it's of topic, but what does niche mean? I've heard it so many time and never knew...
So I might be remembering entirely wrong, but for some reason I recall hearing that someone was going to rewrite the game in something other than Flash... was I just, like, dreaming or is that ever happening?

Also in cheat engine giving yourself infinite health, moms knife, and max damage and speed is the funniest goddamn thing. I actually really enjoy being able to dick around if I don't wanna play a serious run.
I'm fine with that. This DLC was great.
Here's how astonishingly well my run just went. I just unlocked ??? today, died on the necropolis as my first attempt. Second attempt, I made it to mom's heart and won.
I was then offered to go to the Cathedral, which I did of course. Wherein, I abruptly destroyed[sp]Isaac[/sp]. I took 2 hits the entire round because of my 3 pretty flies after being surrounded by a ton of the winged fetuses. I feel so accomplished! I didn't remember to save the items but the most important was the tick and the nail in my opinion.
I got the code, but it isn't working. I activate the cheats but nothing happens.

Step 1: Start up the Binding of Isaac
Step 2: Open up the Cheat Engine
Step 3: Click the computer icon and select Isaac.exe
Step 4: Click the folder icon and choose the isaac scripts you got for the cheat list
Step 5: Click the X's to choose what you want to activate. It takes a while to click but that's because Isaac is so bloated right now with content.
=You can only choose one item at a time, i.e the compass, to choose something else mid run click off of it, you'll keep the compass and be able to select another item, click "Activate upon next room entry" or something along those lines to get the second item you want, and repeat till you have the build you desire. Make sure you click off the checkmark for "Get item in every room" otherwise you'll get like 9 million portable slot machines.
Starting the game on a brand new computer is a completely new experience. All of the things that I already knew about the game were made much faster and smoother, I legitimately got killed several times before I finally got my bearings and had the timing down.
It's fun though, I just wish that I didn't need to scour for the Polaroid if I want to go to the Chest. I enjoy the floor because it's a damn good challenge, but I don't enjoy grinding to get that trinket so I can access the floor. My last run was very lucky for the Box to drop the Polaroid for me, unfortunately the Chest rooms are very difficult with IPECAC because of how fast every enemy moves.

By far my best Isaac run ever just now. Playing as Cain, I got the Nun's Habit and Bottle of Pills very early on. This allowed me to dominate the shit out of the game, getting my tears and range maxed out very quickly, and giving me a steady supply of Full Health pills and Balls of Steel. Also I got a Meat Boy AND turned into Guppy (for the first time). I scoured every inch of the Cathedral to find the Polaroid, and it came out of a brown chest in the last room I searched. Went on to clear every room of [sp]The Chest[/sp] (for the first time). Holy shit, best run ever.

idk about you but I'm looking forward to the alt colored bosses. It's just a great simple way to keep the game interesting. I hope he actually does it for all the non final bosses now, but I don't think he will.

Finally got to mom, but I only had 2 hearts.
Got her down to half health and then died. FUCK.
I hope Edmund buffs "It Lives" eventually. It's attacks and summons are pathetic, especially in comparison with [sp]Satan and Isaac[/sp].
