Finally reached Mom for the first time and killed her on my first try ever! Took me 51 deaths to get to her, but that was a pretty good run. Also unlocked Cain, can't wait to check him out.

Soul hearts are lost before eternal hearts which are lost before red hearts. Blood donation machines, IV Bag, Demonic Beggars, Challenge Rooms, Razor Blade, Blood Rights, Whore of Babylon and several of the trinkets (Polaroid, Umbilical Cord, Cursed Skull etc) ignore Soul Hearts.
If red hearts were lost before eternal hearts, you would have a guaranteed health up, it was kept the way it is for balance purposes.

As if that wasn't obvious enough. That's why you leave eternal hearts there and go pick them up only after defeating the boss. What I don't understand is why blood donation machines and demon beggars take eternal hearts first. It doesn't affect balance in any way, it's just plain annoying and it doesn't make sense.

Every item room has Brother Bobby in it.
You can't reroll them.
They stack.
Just curious, Does Polyphemus+Ipecac work/do anything or does the Ipecac just override the effects of Polyphemus completely?
Cause I have Polyphemus and just went into an item room and found an Ipecac. Didn't pick it up yet cause I wanted to ask about it first.
Also wanted to know is Ipecac's damage based off Tear or Bomb damage(As in is a set damage)? I know it explodes but wanted to make sure anyways.

I figured as much. Doesn't master anyways I beat Isaac using Polyphemus + Book of Belial. Now to beat it with ??? and then I would've beaten Isaac with every character.
Then I attempt The Purist Challenge....Man it's a pain in the ass.
I'll bother with the chest stuff after I beat Purist.
