Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to tell you about an item. For those of you who don't know, the item is this:

The candle.
Previously, I had said this may be one of the best active items in the game. I was wrong. It is [I]the[/I] best active item in the game. It fires a blue flame which deals constant damage and has a short range. Doesn't sound very good, but it has a recharge of one. And I don't mean one room, I mean one [I]second[/I].
Not good enough for you? Well, you can deal damage to Mom by hitting one of the doors, even if she is not there. Still not good enough? It allows you to [sp]skip The Fallen and go straight to the first phase of Satan by hitting his statue[/sp]. STILL not good enough? Well, it evaporates enemy shots. That's [I]pretty useful[/I] for a [I]couple of very hard bosses[/I]. And because it's a shop item, it's incredibly easy to acquire.
Most of you know all of that already, but I just thought I'd mention it for those of us who just got the game in the steam sale.

I just got this game yesterday.
On my first 2 playthroughs, I made it to level 4.
It's pretty difficult when you have shit luck and you keep getting almost-useless power-ups.

I have only 1 question that concerns me... Ho do I succeed as Sampson?
He is the only character I haven't beat [sp]???[/sp] with, and it is he who stands between me and Platinum God. Even if I have something like Brimstone or Mom's Knife I either have low HP or Damage.
Should I just restart game over and over again until I get something cool from first Treasure Room or what?

You only need to beat [sp]isaac[/sp] to get the 'last chapter' achievements.
Anyway, I beat him today with samson, but mostly because I had a stage 4 meatboy, tons of bombs and soul hearts, as well as brimstone. Took me about 12 runs though. Probably still wouldn't have done it if it hadn't been for the samson buff a while ago.
Got all achievements aside from platinum god now. (Still haven't found 2 items)

I think I killed Mom on my second or third playthrough. You just gotta keep an eye on projectiles. Once you know which enemy does what and their attack pattern they become rather easy to dodge even when in large numbers.

I'm soooo tempted to draw some concept art for your game. I used to be pretty good at drawing things with Flash, then I stopped for a really long while and can't really draw anything anymore.

Probably the universal advice for games not working on steam: try verifying the game files. If not, I'm sure this problem has came up before so someone else should be able to help you more than me.
To fix that you have to reinstall the game, its worked for my friends.

Could have been interesting if they had a better plot. They just turned a game about a kid's deranged dreams and personality disorders with tons of possible interpretation into "hur dur sushi samurai".

You need to unlock all Secrets, so yes.

Most of the time with bullets, small dodges are better than large dodges.

Neat; Mom looks pretty scary, almost like some kinda Large Marge, and Isaac is pretty screwed. Pentacle, Belt, 2 Pretty Flies, Brother Bobby and Meat!, isn't the best build for Depths 2, which makes things even less hopeful for Isaac. Keep up the good work.
Also, an odd yet cool string of words appeared in my head; Fundamentalist Christian Pro Wrestler Mom. Way better than lousy soccer moms. I guess I thought that because she looks like she's gonna go pro-wrestler on Isaac. All we need is Meat Boy as the Referee a'la Punch-Out.

What, really? I though it was normal to take no damage in the Mom fight once you've gotten the first five endings, even if you've got a crap item build.
