I also had the Sad Onion and other health boosting items. I fought Mom with 8 hearts.
The only problem I had when fighting her was laaaaag.

man, i was doing so well and got killed because of one of those stupid fucking rooms that have the moving spike blocks at the entrance. i had cancer and hanger, which gave me max fire speed, and had half a heart with eve, so i was wrecking everything, then spike blocks out of nowhere
Made it to mom's foot as Magdalene and died.
Well at least i unlocked Eve.

They're pretty much as bad as Larry Jr., but they spawn too often for how annoying they are to fight. At least with Larry Jr. you can kill a middle segment to kill him early, instead of having each individual segment scatter all over the room.
Also it seems to me like the greed heads haven't been nerfed at all. For how annoying and numerous they are, they shouldn't take more than 3-4 hits to kill with default power.

Currently my least favorite enemy is those damn Mask+Hearts. I ALWAYS encounter them in tight corridors and it's like impossible to kill them quickly without some sort of piercing weapon.

I just had a run as cain where I got so many luck up pills that pretty much every play on a slot machine was success. I got brimstone in a sacrifice room, then a ton of damage up items and because of the high luck, I had more soul hearts than it could show. I killed "It Lives" for the first time and got blue baby. I wish it had been after unlocking him so I could have gone after Satan, but it was still a really good run.
Explosive Shots + My Reflection is the most useless piece of shit upgrade combination I've ever seen.
It just hovers around your head for an hour before hitting right next to you.

What do these top-left items do? I found an umbelical cord but I'm not sure what it does.
I got stuck on the fucking arcade in the utero 2 and I accidently blew up the bloodbank and i had to do the chance game thing and suicide via fly, hard as fuck with meat boy killing them but I had the Ankh and was planning to die anyway to get the D6 even though its my 4th mom kill.
Only 3 spirit hearts, then i find balls of steel, a random spirit heart, an enemy dropped 2 and another from a chest.

They're trinkets. I think the umbilical cord spawns a familiar if you get hurt to half a heart.
