duke of flies is more an annoyance than a challenge
I find Husk to be easier than Duke of Flies solely because Husk doesn't bother with putting up a fly shield. The fly shield is the only thing that makes a Duke of Flies fight take longer unless I have a piercing item (I'm stingy with my bombs to the point where they're only used in combat on the final boss).
[thumb]http://i50.tinypic.com/254ye5e.jpg[/thumb] Got to phase 3 & 10% life bar. The flying, exploding worm things messed me up pretty bad. The actual boss wasn't too bad at all, but the adds are a pain. Fairly interesting run and my first attempt at Sheol. Only big game changer was an early Book of Revelations (my first, as far as I know) which let me get the Super Meat Boy. He does a pretty crazy amount of damage if he gets to sit on an enemy for a bit. Also cheeses some of the enemies in the Womb/Sheol really well. Cain is my favorite character so far. I don't really like start scumming, so just removing a lot of the "bad" randomness from the start is a nice alternative. Oddly enough I didn't really get many pills on him this time, but I've had some crazy pill runs with Cain before.
lord of flies you're such a pushover
it's duke of flies omg isaac n00b
How in the fuck. 1st floor. Undamaged through whole floor, bet my hearts for Brimstone. 2 hearts, 5 soul hearts, 2 dmg ups, a speed up, 1 range up, and Harlequin Baby. Thought I had the best run ever. Get to Depths II. Suddenly, like 7 of those fucking mask things with the hearts. I had 2 hearts, and 2 and a half soul hearts then. I died in that room. Fuck those things.
I was getting Squeezy with martyr of the blood. Then I got Ipecac. I got the necroplis and those fucking clots with the iClots destroyed the fuck out of me Also had brimstone and got 2 HP-ups in a row [editline]18th July 2012[/editline] My friend then decided to buy brimstone as Eve.
I got to mom one time within 16 hours, my friends sister beat mom within 3 hours playtime total. seriously what the fuck, she barely even plays games
On a lighter note, anyone have any Isaac art to share?
i guess that's a start
Apparentky Edmund doesn't care/doesn't want to get involved, so he just let them be.
He can't do anything anyway, the most he'll be able to do is politely ask them to change it and they have all the right in the world to tell him to get lost.

It's been at least twice in the past day that I got a room with narrow paths that basically force you to take a few hits with this asshat of an enemy.
duke of flies is more an annoyance than a challenge
Well, every basement boss is [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] Excluding Widow maybe
How to defeat every boss: 1. Acquire A Pony 2. Press Space while not holding any other buttons 3. Shoot with mouse while the boss touches you and gets damaged Congratulations you have won The Binding of Isaac! :eng101:

[thumb]http://uppix.net/7/3/b/e8a18e0e5b94293ca1552a9e36f06.png[/thumb] lasers I'm just a bit disappointed because I first picked Technology along with Polyphemus and thought Mutant Spider (aka quad shot) would make it even more powerful. Instead it reduced my damage by half. What a shame. Also I only found Ouija Board in the Chest. Would have been so useful if I got it a bit earlier. Also for some reason I had two Robo-Babies.
Fuck you and everything that you stand for.
For some reason I still find Krampus harder than him. Even though Krampus announces his brimstone attacks I somehow always manage to run straight into them. On the other hand Bloat's lasers rarely hit me. Go figure.
A good strategy for Bloat that i've seen is simple; get yo ass behind him and go to town, he can't shoot backwards. If there's a Champion Bloat that CAN fire backwards (is there even such a thing?), then this strategy falls apart.

All he needs is to have a warning before he uses his blood beams and he'll be a perfectly fine boss, but nope, he's got to be the most annoying motherfucker in the game. He's usually tougher than the final boss when he's encountered as a regular enemy because he always get that free shot on you as you walk through the door -- at least as a boss, you know what you're going to be fighting so you can dodge right away.
His "tells" could use refinement, yes; right now he seems to waste very little time in firing. Add on about a third of a second, maybe even half a second, to his blood-laser tells, and he'd probably be a bit more manageable. Monstro 2 has a substantial tell for his bloodbeam, and a strategy i've seen has gone like this; provoke him to fire in one direction, then go behind him in the opposite direction so that when he finishes, he does another bloodbeam, and from there rinse and repeat.

The Bloat not only needs a tell, but a delay. I'm not sure if a delay as long as Monstro II would be fine, Monstro II is already a bit of a joke. About half a second of priming would be perfect, enough time to react, and enough time to actually dodge it.

Has the flies health increased? Takes 2 hits doing 4 damage now!?
:I
Would have been a decent time to use the D20 if you had it. Every opened chest can be rerolled as well, so you'd have 4 more items that aren't just a single half heart.
YES FINALLY I DID IT! Beat the final boss as Samson. That was also my first time getting Epic Fetus after drop rates were fixed.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm kind of surprised that the Mark/Curse of Cain wasn't an item in this game. Not sure what you could do with a curse that made his descendants unable to grow crops, but he could've easily used the mormon interpretation (also known as the "racist" interpretation) visually.
I just got a really lucky angel room after beating mom's heart and got to satan. Got him to 1/10th hp in his final form and those bloody leeches got me. I was suprised though, Satan isn't too hard.
Judas + Twisted Horn + Thin Mushroom + Magic Mushroom + Sacred Heart [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] Wow, I just gave up Polyphemus because with this build, it can only disadvantage me.
christ, spiders are fucking assholes. fuck spiders.
Oh wow. I just got cancer (I have the purse). Beyond max fire rate, homing insta-kill tears.
