Is funny how alot of games make very solid references from alot religions and nobody say a single word about it.
Be absolutely sure you have at least 3 spirit hearts remaining when you do that or the deal you make with the devil will be fatal. After the deal is made, you can go below 3 spirit hearts no problem, but at the time of the "transaction", if you have too few, you will die. I believe this also holds true for blood donation machines, I haven't bothered to check.
I bothered to check. It instead starts taking away your spirit hearts. A Bad Trip pill will not turn into a Full Health pill if you have more than 3 spirit hearts even if you have 1 half heart remaining. I found it by accident because I found a Bad Trip and I wanted to get a shitton of tries at a blood donation machine and then refill my health again (I had Money = Power, so I wanted to see if I couldn't get a nickle or two), but instead I got hurt. Rest assured, I was killed by 2 Greeds and a Fistula in the next room. I was so close to Satan's room too.
Okay, how rare are Mom's Knife and encountering the Headless Horseman supposed to be? I had 3 runs in a row as Blue Baby, Isaac, and Eve where I got those two items and cleaned house, it's ridiculous :v: I am really liking that loadout, it reminds me of jousting. I guess no automerge for me.
After 14 Issacs I've finally killed Mom. Also those moments.
I hate reading articles about this game on other gaming websites, simply because of the hate from the comments. Hasn't Edmund said himself somewhere that the game is not mocking religion, but referencing it? And then people have to go make claims about the game compared to the religious story, and interpret it all wrong. And, most importantly, why does this make me so mad?!
I'm an Atheist and I play games with religious references all the time. I don't get angry over that. It makes the story deeper and more unique, not to mention entrenched with our culture. Why does making a religious reference (even if it's implying God's bad/non-existing, which Isaac isn't) determine how a game is? Hell, I played this the other day at my friend's house and I liked the little storyline to it.
One thing I wonder is this; would a multiplayer version of Isaac be in any way fun and balanced, or would it be a clusterfuck? More to the point, would it even be possible, since I dunno if Flash has any real "online capabilities" to speak of.

I don't see any real problems with a "co-op" mode, unless flash doesn't support it. a real simple co-op mode two. Like dead risings. Just two characters. Each player can select their own characters and items like in item rooms and boss rooms either drop twice or have two different drops (two different drops would be funner imo). Bosses would have slight buffs and youd both have to stay in the same rooms. Obviously wouldnt be fun for random online play but rather chaotic and fun with people you know, running to get the best items before the other person or trying to optmize eachothers load outs. I dunno, I just think itll be cool.

Aye, that'd work. Being able to screw over your friends like that worked in Magicka, but then again you could easily revive one-another in that game, and I don't think easy revival would work in Binding of Isaac; maybe if your ally revived at the end of a boss fight, or if there was a rare spacebar item/pill/card that could bring them back, but otherwise an easy revive would probably make things a bit too easy.
I don't think there should be a revive at all, if a guy dies, too bad, the other one have to finish it solo.

Clearing the floor (ie: caves 1+2) would be much more fun imho
I don't think there should be a revive at all, if a guy dies, too bad, the other one have to finish it solo.
I dunno, considering the type of game BoI is, and thinking about how co-op would work, I think co-op would be made to be a much easier, more chaotic mode, so I reckon reviving after each boss, perhaps with just a vanilla load out (would really fuck you up in anything past the caves) would be better than no revival at all.

All I'm saying is if all you're going to say about the game is that it's blasphemy, and not properly review it over gameplay, etc. then why would you post anything at all? All it does is serve as rage fuel. Sorry if I offended you, I didn't mean anything by it.
Played it on my brother's laptop. It's way harder when you actually have a decent FpS
So according to Edmund, if they go through with creating a version for Sony consoles, they'll do a full-rewrite in a different language like how Terry Cavanah rewrote VVVVVV in C++ instead of Flash. Neat.
Makes sense; Flash isn't exactly a console kinda platform. Also, is there any more intel concerning Wrath of the Lamb? The Patches look like a new kind of passive that don't stack and can be swapped for different Patches, so they're probably powerful mechanic-changing items that work in different ways.
I decided to do a Maggie playthrough yesterday and that went rather well up until I got to second phase satan. I did unlock ???, though.
What sick irony this came can bring. I picked up the Wafer on Basement 1 but I didn't get hit at all in the Womb and Sheol. A waste of an item, but at least I got the Mama's Boy achievement now.
Sounds pretty ironic to me; you picked up an item that reduced the damage you took, but when you entered the truly dangerous places you didn't even need it. Helps you feel good about yourself at least, what with the whole not-getting hit thing an' all. Also, after Wrath of the Lamb comes out, and the developer calls it a job-well-done, what would come next from Ed McMillan?
He's gonna make a new game in a new engine made by that second guy in team meat
Can we expect the C++ version on PC too?
He said it would be both the console and pc versions that would get the rewrite. The console requires the rewrite, the pc version pretty much just gets optimized big time by shifting away from flash :v:
god damn it so close to killing satan with technology and fuck all anything else wasn't supposed to get to him either but i got the shovel and pretty much lost all my soul hearts from the nail to those fucking leeches
Something really strange just happened. The game literally gave me a heart container for no reason. I'm playing as Judas, who starts with 1 heart. As you can see I got a single health up item. Spawned in basement 2 with 3 hearts. What.
big odd mushroom gives you a health up sometimes
I didnt though. I had 1 heart as I was fighting the boss.
I didnt though. I had 1 heart as I was fighting the boss.
it looks to me like you somehow forgot picking up a health up or something [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] also beat mom's heart for the 7th time now!
I didnt though. I had 1 heart as I was fighting the boss.
Odd Mushroom doesn't give you the heart, it gives you another heart container, but you need to replenish the heart yourself. If you're not paying close attention, it's easy to miss that extra empty heart container.
