A good strategy against Mom is to stay near the middle and lure her into stomping the enemies she spawns. You can even lure her into stomping herself by getting close to the doors but that's kinda risky. Quite hilarious though. :v:
You had a quite decent build too. A decent amount of health, a good firerate and lots of damage. What a shame.

Most items are upgrades, although some decrease your stats as a side effect. For instance there's a thin black mushroom which maxes out your firerate but decreases your damage to the minimum. It's great when you get it at the beginning, and not so great afterwards. Another item grants triple shots but gives you a piss poor firerate, although that's usually okay because you'll still be dishing out a ton of damage.
If you got straight downgrades, that's probably from pills. You can't know what a pill will do until you use it, unless you have the PHD, in which case the effect of the pill will show up after a few seconds.
Pills with the same colour will always do the same thing in the same playthrough. Once you restart the game though, every pill will gain a different effect, so there's no point remembering the colours.
What the fuck. I got telepills and when I used them I got teleported into this fucked up room filled with pills and this guy who says "I am error" or something. What

No, the thin mushroom maxes firerate and then reduces either range or damage by one.

My only real problem with them is that they tend to spawn in such a way that they immediately surround you, and you can't escape unless you have high speed, a flying item, or high enough attack to kill at least one of them.
And their HP is so ridiculously high, that can be hard to do.

I'm fairly sure it reduces it to the minimum. Or at least it reduces damage by two.

I beat him the first time I met him, but holy shit I actually thought that the game was broken/I didn't have the required items to beat him he had so much health, since it has no visible healthbar. Probably took me like 4-5 minutes straight of firing at it.
