Wow, I just beat It Lives for the first time. Then right after that I went into the Cathedral and beat Isaac too.
I had shitty items the entire time, nothing of notable worth, but still beat them both with relative ease.

The Pact is quite good if you ask me, if I remember correctly it increases your damage by two unlike most damage upgrades, and the fact that it replaces your two red hearts by spirit hearts is a nice bonus.
Hmmm, I wonder; being that Binding of Isaac is kinda Zeldaish, has anybody actually drawn Isaac in a Link outfit?

Don't you mean Soul/Spirit Hearts? 'cause using the Prayer card generously would mean a LOT of Red Hearts, leading to a metric FUCKTON of Spirit Hearts when you grab Guppy's Paw.

If you have 6 heart containers, you can turn them all into 18 soul hearts. Now if you have the Habit, you can get one eternal heart for one soul heart by repeatedly hurting yourself. So a new heart container for 2 soul hearts. If you use all of your soul hearts that way, you end up with 9 heart containers. Rinse and repeat. :v:

I like cain even though he starts with one less heart. Everything else he's good at makes up for it and if you're competent that missing heart won't amount to anything
Cain is pretty much the best character ([sp]until you get the D6[/sp]) since he has so many benefits; the biggest of which is his inability to be harmed through pills. If you can get a pill-popper combo, you can absolutely [I]wreck[/I] the game.
Oh man I remember this one time (well it was with Isaac) but I had the safety cap and found a whole bunch of pills. 3 of them were tears up and I had cancer too, so my tears stat was up there and nothing could touch me
Mom's bottle of pills + Habit + 9volt. Every other room I was pulling a full-health or tears up pill.
Also, I really love and hate Ipecac at the same time. It's useful, but anything close is impossible to hit.

Well the first time you get it it's like "fucking cool I shoot bombs" but then when you get down to cave level or below and you have to kite literally everything in circles, it's just not worth it
