Lord of the Pit is a passive. It will grant you daemon wings, allowing you to fly.
Just check the wiki if you have future questions about the basics of what items do, it's not that hard to grep through the item listing there.

Took me two tries. I think it helps if you've played shoot'em ups before, since it's also about learning enemy patterns and dodging projectiles, and it turns out I'm pretty fond of them. :v:

The Polaroid shield activates every single time you get hit as ???, just get a decent amount of spirit hearts and damage and its not too difficult.
Is this just me, or do i LOVE the "Meat 4 Evar!" Challenge, i nerd out to it so much... And why the hell do i have such a hard time with "issac was good today"? I die in the caves, and normally im really good with this game.

It's actually called Transcendence and it's a permanent Hanged Man card. Basically you become a flying head.

Pretty sure that the requirement is 5 characters out of the 7.
Either way, there are item unlocks for clearing the Cathedral with each character, so don't skimp out on your less-liked characters just because you only need 5 in order to unlock the Polaroid.
