it'll all make sense if you watch the last 3 endings [editline]5th August 2012[/editline]
You mean [sp]when Isaac discovers he really is possesed and his mom was right the whole time[/sp]? I love these [sp] you were the bad guy all along [/sp] twists.
I'll just copy the interpretation of the story I perhaps like the most from the Isaac Wiki on to here. Obvious spoilers about all the endings ahoy. (That includes the final ending you get by beating ??? in the chest).
[sp]In the photos we see Isaac's mom and dad meeting and getting married, they have Isaac and everyone is happy. Then they have Isaac's sister Maggy, mom loves Maggy a lot. Isaac starts feeling jealous about all the attention Maggy is getting and maybe wishes that she would die so he can get more attention. Somewhere down the line, Maggy dies and with the depression of her death and Isaac's Mom's growing instability, Dad leaves the family. Isaac feels as if he is the one who has caused all this and becomes extremely depressed. His mother begins to go insane with the loss of Maggy, forcing Isaac to dress up as her and even abusing him and threatening to kill him. Eventually Isaac runs off to his room and cries next to his toy chest, wondering what he should do with himself. This is where the actual game may come in, Isaac fights his fears (the enemies/bosses) and the sins he has made in his life (Minibosses) and the horrors of sin (Horsemen/Satan) eventually he fights his mother because he thinks he has made her upset, and later fights her heart because he feels he has broken her heart. The characters represent Isaac's mind and their amount of hearts shows his feelings towards him. Maggy has 4 hearts because Isaac feels he is doing the right thing dressing as her, Cain has two because he is a killer of his sibling in the Bible, similar to what Isaac thought he did, Judas and Eve are also sinners, so they have 2 and 1 hearts. Finally there is Blue Baby with zero hearts which may be Isaac's wish to kill himself. What happens next depends on which path you take, if you take the Sheol, Isaac makes up his mind to die and locks himself in his Toy chest. If you pick the Cathedral, Isaac faces his fears and continues to The Chest where he fights Blue Baby and ultimately defeats his wish to kill himself, and finds the strength to keep living his life. (None of this is official just somebody's interpretation)[/sp]
I also find that it's pretty clear that [sp]??? is actually supposed to be dead Isaac himself. He locks himself in the chest to commit suicide as seen in one of the dream sequences between levels where Isaac is in a chest breathing heavily. This is why ??? has only spirit hearts and no actual life[/sp].
Might be late, but awesome never the less
Good lord that's pretty freaky, though I assume it was done pre-WotL, since Samson is nowhere to be seen.
Hairball is an extremely cool item
Hell yea Judas with Polyphemus and sacrificial dagger on the first floor. And then a pentagram. This will be fun.
The Big Steve on ??? really adds to it it's funny to me
whish me luck guys [editline]5th August 2012[/editline] ok dead
Why did you not go to the library
Because look at my life.
Mask of Infamy is way too intelligent. I can't stand fighting it.
Mask of Infamy is way too intelligent. I can't stand fighting it.
If I get Mask of Infamy it generally means that I'll have to restart the run. Because fuck the masks.
I didn't die once against Mask of Infamy.
The one time I found it I was mostly fucked because I could never actually hit it it took me like ten minutes
If I get Mask of Infamy it generally means that I'll have to restart the run. Because fuck the masks.
Most bosses at the worst will leave me saying "aw dang, this will be a challenge" Mask of Infamy pisses me off because I know my run is over.
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYmvE3WoHVs[/hd] Isaac's a prick.
Ok guys, I found the best strategy against the mask of infamy so far as I can tell 1. Pause the game 2. Load up your choice of audiobook (I recommend the first book in the Lord of the Rings series, since the 19,9 hours of audio means that you'll only have to play it twice) 3. Hold the down arrow and don't stop doing wide circles I've beaten the Mask with about a 10% success rate with this strategy, so I figured you guys could benefit from it
one hit away from killing Satan in Sheol and I die im crying right now
I never understood this game, can anyone tell me the story of the game and why he's always crying?
I never understood this game, can anyone tell me the story of the game and why he's always crying?
His mom wants to kill him with a huge butcher knife for no apparent reason (she heard voices because she took drugs or something).
His mom wants to kill him with a huge butcher knife for no apparent reason (she heard voices because she took drugs or something).
The "no apparent reason" is the fact that God talked to her and asked her sacrifice him as a test of loyalty. Just like in the REAL story of the binding of Isaac, God intervened just at the last minute when Abraham went to kill Isaac. (in the first ending he [sp]knocks the bible off the shelf onto her head[/sp]) After an angel of God told Abraham not to do it claiming that God understood his faith now, he unbound his son and sacrificed a ram instead. After all was said and done it was just a test.
Magdalena: Dr. Fetus, Mr. Mega, Candel on 1st and 2nd floor. Mom kill within a few seconds. ... game crash on way to uthero. Thanks alot, luck based game.
His mom wants to kill him with a huge butcher knife for no apparent reason (she heard voices because she took drugs or something).
have you even seen the intro to this game
have you even seen the intro to this game
Wait this isn't call of duty ?!?!? You realise there's no way god talked to Isaac's mom, so it's more than likely she heard it by taking too much pills (see Mom's Pill Bottle, Mom's Coin Purse, and so on).
There's some big wall of text a few pages back that explained it pretty well if you wanna look into it like that

The two kind of go hand in hand, symbolism-wise. Plus, the story is based literally on the same tale in which God did actually talk to Abraham to tell him to sacrifice Isaac. It's not like the game's story is completely set in stone or anything, but it's definitely possible both ways.
Satan was added before the scenario of the game was finished.
The point is that there's no way to tell if Isaac's mother is just crazy or if she really did talk to God, save for the fact that the game's opening lines SPECIFICALLY INDICATE that God talked to her himself. If you can't trust the little narration there is, what can you trust?
