If you're going to shittalk the game, did you really feel the need to come into the thread and publicly express your shit opinion?

I think this is appropriate:
This is the way it is with the Zone: if you come back with swag - it's a miracle; if you come back alive - it's a success; if the patrol bullets miss you - it's a stroke of luck. And as for anything else - that's fate.

just swap some names around and it fits quite nicely

Biggest and the most shittiest thing about The Binding of Isaac is that it was created on Flash. As Edmund stated it was the biggest mistake he made in creating a video game.
That we can agree on; Flash is pretty limited, and in recent updates the game has started to break down a bit, plus apparently one more update would end up breaking it. Once the Basement Collection is done, Isaac on a better engine should be on the cards.
I need lvl 4 meat boy. Anybody got any good ways to get him?
I need lvl 4 meat boy. Anybody got any good ways to get him?
Using the Book of Revelations increases the chances of finding the harbingers.
In theory, hope to find Book of Revelations early-on, roundabout Basement/Cellar, and use it often whilst hoping that the Horsemen appear. As you progress through the game, use the B-Rev as many times as possible to increase the chance of encountering a Harbinger. If you're lucky, you'll get a Harbinger in Basement/Cellar, Caves/Catacombs, Depths/Necropolis, and Womb/Utero. And as a plus, if you don't take stupid damage you'll be swimming in spirit hearts.
Also, if there were a Penny Trinket that was like some kind of Spirit Penny, it would be SO OP unless properly balanced, with pennies having a chance to drop spirit hearts.

Or ultra rare.

Aaaand beated The Chest as Samson. Now... to get that Depths achievement.

You know what would be even more OP than that?
Eternal Penny. :v:

Do the challenge?
Do the challenge?
You need to get a level 4 meat boy to unlock the Super Bandage item. And I'm fairly sure doing the challenge won't unlock it automatically.
I need lvl 4 meat boy. Anybody got any good ways to get him?
Do the meat4evar challenge and hope to find a book of revelations, it boosts the % of horsemen appearance.
Wow, Triachnid's a bit of a nonce for the area he appears in. He's almost as much of a damp squib ad Mom's Heart/It Lives.
I hope the power up the Telepathy for Dummies, the Cursed Spoon is in every way better and that book can only be used once every two rooms, taking up the spacebar item!
I'm thinking; Make familiar's shots homing, add spectral effect, and max range. At least then it'd be a useful. I can see myself sticking to walls and dodging while not aiming or something.
Moving on now, I've only had this game for 3 days, and yesterday I managed to defeat Satan with the luckiest run in all of mankind, then again I was using Cain and shit.
Firstly I was able to get Poly in order to destroy enemies quickly, then that turned to split shot.
Using the Book or Revelations I got my Soul hearts Charged to max, whether I had energy items stacked onto that, I don't remember.
Later, I was able, with enough Max HP and no worry about dying to get Brimstone and Lord of the Pit.
Brimstone and Poly making an OHKO laser.
However, I didn't beat the game 10 times before to get ending 11. I used telepills to get to Sheol because I was damned if I was going to lose the best items combo.
To get to Sheol before the endings 1 to 10, I had to use as many pills as I could in the Mom's Heart stage, which was easier since I used slot machines to get the pills.
The telepills leading to ERROR, leading to Sheol and the rest should be obvious.
Just got Ending 2...
Damn. Surprisingly dark.

fixed those typos for you friend

WTF. I've been trying this for like 3 weeks and still haven't done it. I was so close today too, had an awesome run with mom's knife and had a ton of HP, isaac was super easy, not sure if I even got hit, but then I died in the chest before getting to ??? because I went the wrong way (didn't have a compass or map)
I've formed an interesting theory about BoI. Maybe we, the players, are God. We guide Isaac through circumstances beyond his control and keep him safe despite the terrible things that happen along the journey. When his mother is going to kill him, we (as God, mind you) intervene just like the story says and kill her. Or, maybe an angel sent by God like the actual Bible story. It doesn't hold much water considering what little else we've been told about the game's 'story', but oh well.

if the players are God, why can we tell Isaac to trade his soul for demonic power-ups?
if the players are God, why can we tell Isaac to trade his soul for demonic power-ups?
Because we're telling him to do it because we're controlling him? I don't get where being God has any bearing on that besides 'God wouldn't tell Isaac to do impure things' in which case he can tell Isaac to do whatever he wants he's God and it's just a theory anyway.

Found a bug that's still in. If the room you start in on a new floor has a secret room branching off of it, the door will flicker in and out while you're coming down and turn into a wall like it's supposed to be when you've landed.
Gah accidentally entered Sheol instead of Cathedral, when I was certain to complete the playthrough as Judas.
Ah well, still kicked Satan's ass.

Found Number One in the treasure room and then IMMEDIATELY found three range up pills from Mom's Coin Purse. Feels good, man.
Never has 'Feels good, man' been more appropriate, if I recall correctly, it comes from a comic about pissing. :v:
Y'know, the whole thing with Isaac being HAPPY when No.1 is acquired, that's actually kinda mind boggling: I woulda thought he'd be a bit more stressed with a bladder like that, like holding his crotch and doing that little leg-changing dance that people tend to do when they gotta pee. I guess he's relieved that he can actually pee after so much time crying.
Also, if subweapons were a thing, there should be a "Lemonade" subweapon that acts like Holy Water from Castlevania, as in you throw it and it makes the pools of damage; it'd sure give Isaac a leg-up over the competition.
Space-bar items ARE sub-weapons. Sort of.
Lemon Mishap needs to stay on screen longer and self-charge though imo.
Bean self charge too, or at least have a 1 square explosion radius to make it more useful.
Anyone else think that #1 has been completely surpassed by the thin mushroom? Both max your firerate, but the thin mushroom only reduces a stat by one, as opposed to completely draining it.
Anyone else think that #1 has been completely surpassed by the thin mushroom? Both max your fire rate, but the thin mushroom only reduces a stat by one, as opposed to completely draining it.
Not really, Thin reduces damage and Number One reduces range. There are a lot of range items too, such as pills and it's common to come across range items. I also depends what items you have that work worse or less with it.
Reduced range doesn't matter on Technology Items for example.
Thin mushroom is better for Samson though, since his blood lust gets maxed out damage.
God, The Doctor's Revenge is just super easy baby mode, and a free "Unlock all endings" card.
Got ??? unlocked over the past few days with barely any effort. Kinda feel like I cheated, but oh well. Still lots left to get in the game.
EDIT: Awesome, just beat the game with ??? on my first try. Sacred Heart + Parasite + 2 Familiars sure lags the game like hell. Got me killed once against Mom, but luckily I had a 1-up.
Anyone else crash a lot when you try to skip the cutscene that comes up between floors?

There are plenty of items that are straight upgrades from other items
