Holy fuck, I just completed the Cathedral + Isaac bossfight without losing health. I guess getting those 10 Pretty Flies paid off.
I thought only 3 pretty flies took effect at once
Only 3 pretty flies were circling around me, but every single projectile was blocked.
Maybe it has to do with the fact I am not on the latest patch (1.1)?

I believe it's simply luck. You were covering around 60% of all ways to get hit, so I wouldn't put it past you to deflect each shot if you avoid enough and more around a lot.
If you have the guardian angel and a full halo, you'll pretty much never get hit in the isaac fight.

Pretty flies/Cube of meat/Guardian Angel doesn't stack past 3.

Am I the only person who prefers Book of Belial to Nail/Book of Revelations?
Am I the only person who prefers Book of Belial to Nail/Book of Revelations?
Let's put it this way: with the right combination of powerups, Nail/Revelations can make you effectively invincible. Belial does not.
I know, but only with very specific combinations (Habit/Battery and stuff). I know that stacking Soul Hearts is effective, but I'm the sort of person who destroys bosses but fails at rooms along the way so for me Book of Belial is more useful because I can just use it and kill everything in the room quickly before it all hits me a lot.
Book of Belial is useful for one room per charge
Nail/BoR is useful as long as you're not getting hit.
An infinite supply of Soul Hearts is boring. It's cool, but boring. I once had Habit + Wafer + Book of Revelations and I can assure you that it was the most boring experience ever, I didn't even bother dodging anymore and just ran into enemies. Takes all the challenge out of the game.
Book of Belial is much more satisfying. Although it would be so much better if it could stack with other damage multipliers, like the Whore of Babylon.
This game needs something... Something that could save you from terrible luck...
Drop Trinket
I had Brimstone, Book of Belial, and the Strength Tarot Card. When I used it against Mom I realized my shots were as big as Satan's. I became Satan for a small amount of time.
My biggest was Book of Belial/Whore of Babylon with Devil Card.

Just play cain.
God dammit, I just wasted time killing satan, for my second time. I didn't know that killing him a second time wasn't going to unlock anything.. should have went for cathedral

I was having an OK run as sam and accidentally went down to sheol instead of the cathedral. Beating ??? with Sam is all I have left for platinum god I think, so I felt retarded.
I'm still having that issue with Mom not dropping the polaroid. I'm getting a little bit irritated with it, and I'm wondering if I should just cheat engine in the trinket so I can just beat the chest already.
Also, to anybody WANTING the cheat engine file, here.

I once got Mom's Coin Purse in a Cain playthrough. It contained four identical pills. Bombs are key.
The other pills I found in the playthrough were Telepills, Bad Gas and Puberty. The game also decided to give me every existing speed upgrade, and not a single damage or tears upgrade.
yeah, luck

Copying and pasting from my blog because I'm a lazy dickhole.
I play Isaac VERY slowly, Goddamn. I’ve been doing this run for a while now. About two hours.
This run was so good. I was finding dimes left and right, and I had some pretty damn good rerolls. I rerolled the Anarchist's Cookbook into the Sacrificial Dagger and I rerolled Spoonbender into the Lucky Foot. I found the safety cap, and just got a shitload of pills afterwards.
I also managed to find Lord of the Pit and The Mark really early without having to make deals with Satan. Found both of those items in curse rooms. Was pretty sweet. The Mark was originally Guppy’s Tail.
I thought I was going to die in Sheol. I had brought a full health pill and burnt it before I had even gone to Satan. Then, later on in the floor, I found TWO MORE full health pills in one room and I think that’s what really saved me this run. A Beggar had also given me tooth shot in Sheol.
I also kept my D6 with me the whole run. Whoops.
It's time for bed.
Sooo I just got piercing tears, spectral tears a range up and tears up.
The only problem was THAT I HAD BRIMSTONE!
At least thanks to gamekid I got the basement boy.
I have the least luck with Isaac.

I beat the Cathedral with six characters. The drawing is completely filled in on the menu screen, but Mom doesn't drop it. :c

but spoonbender is a great item
but spoonbender is a great item
Never makes much of a different when i use it.
I was screwing around in cheat engine with infinite health. However, the game glitched and kept on repeating the chest over and over. This was the last picture as the game crashed:

Better than Telepathy for Dummies at any rate.
Better than Telepathy for Dummies at any rate.
I cry whenever there are two Telepathy for Dummies books sitting in the library.
I cry if the library contains any ofthse: Telepathy for Dummies, Anarchists Cookbook, Monster Manual.
