Yes, those books aren't exactly the best anyways; when Guppy inherits the items he uses the pages to roll some more hell-leaf cigars, since he can hardly sell those items.
I actually find Anarchist's Cookbook pretty useful if you use it exclusively for early bosses, especially if you haven't yet found any powerups that increase your damage or rate of fire.
Hell yes just beat Isaac with Judas in a few seconds without even taking damage using Mom's Knife. Same thing happened a couple of days ago when I had Dr Fetus and Mr Mega as the Blue Baby. Man I love those items, best in the game, shame I get them so rarely (like once every 50 rounds).
Also, can Book of Belial give you more than max dmg if you already reached the limit?
Yeah, when I was screwing about I seemed to do more damage with it than I did normally.

The Book of Belial is a damage multiplier. So, I assume it would multiply your damage even if you've hit the limit, sorta like Cancer and how it doubles your fire rate to the point your tears are coming out like you're a water hose.
Whenever I try an Eve or Judas run to get them out of the way for the Polaroid, one of two things happens;
I get hp ups and activated items all the time and get fucked over from just not being able to kill stuff quickly (more of a problem with eve)
I get no hp items or soul hearts and get killed very quickly by certain things
god DAMN i love the candle
My best Isaac run so far:
I play Judas, Item room right below me on spawn.
Dead Sea Scrolls, using it right away because I want my Book of Belial anyway.
Anarchist Cookbook.
I die.
Enemies encountered: 0
Rooms visited: 2

Play as judas on wotl v1.0
go west
kamikaze guy right next to the door
blows up in an instant
total run time: 3seconds
Ya the worst is those rooms with 4 bomb guys standing next to a fire in the center of the room. If you enter from the top of bottom there's no chance to avoid getting hurt. Easy way to die in basement 1.
Just beat [sp]Isaac[/sp]
He wasn't that hard, Glad i decided to fight him. [sp]satan[/sp] is a much harder boss imo because blood beams. Also those credits...
[sp]JESUS LOVES ME[/sp]
Satan is really easy though as he has a pattern, unlike Isaac who is just spray and pray
My best Isaac run:
Judas, Cellar 1
Spawn right into the door of the Curse Room
Accidentally go into Curse Room
Game over.

i think i'm off to a good start for this run.
doing the purist challenge and i think i just compensated for the lack of item rooms

kicking myself for not keeping that bloody penny

I forgot about this, Binding of Isaac thread. A while back, I made a Call On Me flash loop with Binding of Isaac characters. http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1344275718
Blue Baby kinda ruins the flow, but he's a character and pretty much [sp]another version of Isaac anyway (not sure why I spoilered this, felt like I should)[/sp], so he got to be in it.

Gif version of the loop.
I don't get why people like Technology so much. It seems to do the same damage as normal tears with the only difference being a cupid arrow's effect and an instant beam instead of tear. I prefer regular tears because they have a knockback effect and since it doesn't instantly travel across the room you can "guide" the tear by running in some direction (while with technology you HAVE to be directly lined with a target in order to hit him)
I dunno, maybe I have missed something with it, but to me it seems overhyped and as useful as brimstome after it got nerfed.
Technology does lower damage but hits per tick, so it has a higher DPS. This also means that things such as the mulligan which have effects per hit and things like spider bite which only have a chance of happening both significantly benefit to the point of being straight up broken.
Oh gosh. So... I had been playing BoI exclusively on a laptop. A 4 year old laptop. So it was kinda like playing in slow motion, it was rare that the game would run at full speed. Anyway, I got a new desktop the other day and fired up BoI and... it was like playing on ultra turbo mode! I was so used to playing with everything being slower and easier to dodge that I died really fast on multiple runs. Like I'm sure I'll get used to it, I mean it is the way the game is supposed to be played, but it's like I suddenly suck at this game.
Fucking masks/hearts are such a poorly designed enemy.

Its also piercing, which is useful as hell against masked enemies. And everything. Its also retarded broken with statuses.
Edit: not too sure about the piercing I just remember it being awesome the 1 time out of 500 I got it.
Edit2: Oh yeah, it got paired with chocolate milk way back before sheol was added. That was the most broken combo I got pre-shoel. Massive lasers everywhere.

Fairly sure that's obvious? Bloody Penny, Burnt Penny, IV Bag, endless farming, bam 99 coins and 99 bombs in no time. He just got lucky with the fortune teller. As for Technology, it can be found in shops. That or it was a lucky D6 reroll. Probably luckier than that Mr. Boom in the corner.
An even more broken combo would be Bum Friend with IV Bag. You can farm pills and cards that way. That also means that you can get a lot of Judgement and Temperance cards after a while, which means more pedestal items to reroll. I had that once. Ended up with Brimstone, Technology 2 and Polyphemus at Basement 2, steamrolled every room, completed the run with almost every item in the game.

Damn son, this dude guy has 106/0 mom kills/death ratio and an awesome beard

Oh and he has 800 hours in BoI
Is there a way to change the key bindings, my s key on my keyboard is broken and it is somewhat hard to play the game.

Awww, Lethal's streak just ended.
Lethal has always been so fucking insane when playing BoI, amazing skills.
There I was having a great run with Sammy, I had managed to pick up the candle just before facing Mom and I had quite a few stat increasing finds along the way so things were looking good and I blasted through that battle without losing any health. She also dropped the eight ball and the tarot card it gives you upon pick up happened to be the emperor card so I used it as soon as I got to the next level to skip out a bunch of potentially bullshit rooms and improve my chances. Yeah, "fuck that" said the game as it threw The motherfucking Bloat at me. "Oh shit." I thought to myself aloud. "Oh fuck oh shit" I continued, my confidence ever decreasing as the vs. card faded away. WHAMFUCKLE! As soon as I spawn I'm blasted with his bullshit-rays before any human (and I suspect most robots) could possibly respond. "Okay okay, don't worry maybe you can still pull this back together" I told myself. Hah, yeah right! He caught me again with those blood beams as I tried to dodge an eyeball and position myself better. Within seconds he had me down to two out of four hearts and I had only managed to get a couple of hits in. Needless to say he proceeded to wreck my shit harder than any shit has ever been wrecked before. Why is this boss even a thing?
Do regular items spawn in the shop anymore? All i get now is map, compass, candle, purse, batteries, etc
[editline]9th September 2012[/editline]
and only one "item" actually spawns in shops now, where i remember two could spawn

IV Bag is tits. I love that you can use it twice per life sacrifice
IV Bag is tits. I love that you can use it twice per life sacrifice
Besides Bloody Penny, how is IV bag good? Usually it's just a slap in the face after I sacrificed a ton of health to try and get a blood bag, and you'll get tons of coins from donating blood.
