Epic Fetus is still more powerful then it, disproportionately so. I wish you could toggle Wrath of the Lamb content...
So you can't toggle WofL off? I swear I get so many lousy items after installing it that I'm losing the will to play, it's always the same items I find now.
Completely disagree, the arcade (whilst tedious) is basically what makes Cain so blatantly overpowered. If you enter with thirty cents, you will walk away with at least one power up. Play the beggar until he gives you skatole, use any leftover hearts on the blood donation machine, play the regular slots for pills- which can have zero adverse affect on you because of the lucky foot- or pretty flies. [editline]9th December 2012[/editline] In fact, the only bad gambling machine is the fortune teller since the only permanent item it can give you is an active.
I love the fortune teller, I rack up so many soul hearts with it. wait what the heck just happened i got golden god but I still have a few achievements left to get
others are probably for platinum god
But I've been stuck on those last achievements for days, and just now when I launch the game it says I unlocked Golden God?

Ah yes, Mew-genics; a game that I assume involves making mutant cats. I hope we see some gameplay in time.
@the pin discussion I find Pin really, really easy. Literally all you do is move out of the way when he dives and then spam him with tears when he comes up.
He's super easy, it's just. He appears more than any other boss for me, and he's just a waste of my time.
I love the fortune teller, I rack up so many soul hearts with it.
But that's negated by the (fairly common) powerup "Mitre", which commonly replaces normal hearts- the ones from the beggar cups, for example- with soul hearts.
Also, fuck greed. When I see him more than I see actual shops, there is a problem.
But that's negated by the (fairly common) powerup "Mitre", which commonly replaces normal hearts- the ones from the beggar cups, for example- with soul hearts.
While that may be true, Soul Hearts are just more common in the Machine than hearts in the beggar game. At least I think so.
Yes game, a Book of Shadows is exactly what I wanted for my first item. I love you game, you always give me want I want please kill me
Yes game, a Book of Shadows is exactly what I wanted for my first item. I love you game, you always give me want I want please kill me
You can now get free items from blood donation machines/devil beggars. It's a fucking amazing item.
You can now get free items from blood donation machines/devil beggars. It's a fucking amazing item.
The shield is still pretty useful without using that, last's awhile, not sure why Big Ben doesn't like it.
I would just much rather have something that ups damage, like a Sad Onion or even a familiar.
aaaand the game decided to glitchily award me the achievement "???'s soul" God damnit I want to actually earn these achievements, not get them handed over to me because of some stupid bug.
"Oh hey, i'll just casually walk into this room - wait a second, one thin corridor, this is an odd design, OH WHAT IS THAT ITS COMING STRAIGHT AT ME AND I HAVE NOWHERE TO G-" and you died.
What makes it worse is that the rooms are all manually designed: The floor layout and the enemy placement is all intentional on Edmund's part. The things that are randomized are how the rooms are connected, whether any of the enemies are the item-dropping variants, the item drops themselves, and of course: enemy variants within the same class. Mullibooms and Mulligans are technically considered the same enemy as far as the game is concerned, so when Edmund designed the rooms to place that sort of enemy, it has a chance to spawn an enemy that works in a completely different manner. This seems more like an issue with Florian's coding, as the enemy spawning scripts existed prior to Wrath of the Lamb where most of the Mulliboom annoyances arose; but Edmund and Florian both still had the opportunity to fix it through the months that they spent working on it. They either ignored it or were unaware of it.
Also, I'm not crazy, right, Greed heads take way more damage than most other enemies? Because they're no fun to fight, especially early on.
Also, I'm not crazy, right, Greed heads take way more damage than most other enemies? Because they're no fun to fight, especially early on.
They have crazy-high hp. Before they got nerfed, they had even more than they do now. Plus they would drain your money regardless if you were invincible or not, so if you let one touch you (which happened pretty often on the rooms with narrow corridors), they would completely clean you out of both cash and hearts.
Wheee. Beat Mom's heart for the first time, as Cain.
3rd successful Heart fight, unlocked Quarter. Technically 4th Heart Fight unlock, but somehow beating Satan after going to Sheol after the 2nd Heart fight caused Nail to unlock; I guess the game marked my "Secret Satan" fight as a Heart Kill.
Also, I'm not crazy, right, Greed heads take way more damage than most other enemies? Because they're no fun to fight, especially early on.
Greed heads are probably the most dick enemies in the game.
Greed heads are probably the most dick enemies in the game.
No. Greed is. The game should have been called the Binding of Greed. Because you see Greed more then Isaac.
No. Greed is. The game should have been called the Binding of Greed. Because you see Greed more then Isaac.
At least you can somewhat avoid or see it coming from the layout of the way the stores have been going, but with greed heads, its like you don't know what hit you until you're in a room that's nothing but corridors with greed heads leaping around, stealing your precious gold, and never ever dieing.
Maybe I'm the only one with a passionate hate for Greed. I end every game with 50+ coins because I don't go in stores anymore. It's always a Greed, no matter the amount.
i wouldn't hate greed as much if he didn't drop such shit items they're useful at the game's start but he usually appears in the last shop before the womb, where money/steam sales are useless he should just drop a random 15 cent item from the shop IMO
I only have 12 achievements left to get until I get the Platinum God achievement.
Wheee. Beat Mom's heart for the first time, as Cain.
cain is my favorite character he's like the best
Depending on the room I think knights and masks are my least favorite
I don't mind the knights at all. Sure they're a bit annoying on places that are very narrow, but at least they're easy to predict and dodge most of the time. Greedheads, masks, and the suicide mulligans are the most annoying enemies to me. The masks almost always spawn in large groups and you can't avoid them simply because you don't have enouugh fucking room, the suicide bombing twats always spawn right in front of you in corridors where you have nowhere to go... but I think the greedheads must be the absolute worst in the end. They appear way too early on in the game considering how difficult they are, they often spawn in large groups, they have unpredictable jumping patterns and shoots 2 shots that goes diognally, and it fucking makes you lose coins every time you're hit. Also yeah, Greed is a terribly fucking annoying mini-boss. I wish they would limit him to only be able to appear twice on one run, because it's extremely frustrating and unfair when the majority of the times you manage to afford buying stuff from the shop you're met with a goddamn greed. Once is alright, two is tedious, 3 times is just ruining the whole point of having shops at all. I barely care about unlocking the shops on the lower levels anymore, because it's always fucking greed. Money becomes pointless for all beggars and arcade rooms.
For my vanilla ass, Knights are kind of dicks if you're in a tight room, especially if you don't have Bombs or Flying. Thankfully I had Spider Tears by that point, which helped make them easier to deal with.
