I always thought duke of flies was really easy, even after everything is terrible
I always thought duke of flies was really easy, even after everything is terrible
He is. He's just so so so so annoying for me to kill.
I think the most annoying thing to fight is envy. If I see him at all in basement 1, I usually just start a new round unless I get something great in the treasure room like damage up or a tear upgrade.
We got a beefed up Scolex II (I hope that means he buffed regular Scolex, he's a joke now), a Larry Jr. Jr. (I know that he said we'll get a second one, but that guy looks small for a II :v:), Loki II, Daddy Long Legs, another spider boss that we've yet to see, Duke of Flies II, what looks like Peep with more manboobs (also a floating eye, presumable from him), baby-Gurdy?, and what looks like a Gemini with part of his head missing and the smaller bit of him looking like a sperm.
Can't wait to play with all this stuff.
If I have to say, instead of "what looks like a sperm," I'd have to say its more than likely a ghost.
If it is indeed a ghost, Edmund might have gotten inspiration from the touhou series.

She's half-ghost too v:v:v
or, you know, its a generic looking ghost, and not something from an anime
Watch out, calling Touhou an anime is a berserk button for it's fans.
I'm hyped for Wrath of the Lamb even though I am yet to beat sheol, it's going to be great.
or, you know, its a generic looking ghost, and not something from an anime
Seriously. Almost as annoying when people wouldn't stop saying "HE MADE GLUTONNY A FAT GUY, HE MUST WATCH FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BECAUSE IT HAD A FAT GUY NAMED GLUTONNY TOO!!"
Pretty sure Edmund said he doesn't watch anime so yeah
Do it with the blue baby :v:
Done.

Little C.H.A.D. was useless and so was the Ladder (I picked it up in the Womb from a beggar, there are no holes to cross from Womb onward). Along my way I picked up 2 Pretty Fly pills and a ton of Range Up pills. Most of the stat-up items and Tammy's Head were from locked chests and not bosses. Treasure Map was the only thing I picked up from the shop on my entire run, aside from a couple bombs and spirit hearts.
I was down to half a heart remaining until the room before Satan, there was a marked rock in there and lo and behold: 2 spirit hearts popped out.
how do beggers get in the womb anyway? that's a bit disturbing to me.
how do beggers get in the womb anyway? that's a bit disturbing to me.
if you don't want this little bit of story spoiled for you don't click
[sp]the entire game after he goes down into the basement is a figment of isaac's imagination, so those types of things are possible, as is everything else in the game[/sp]

Actually the only time I heard someone reference Binding of Isaac Gluttony to FMA was the fact he opens up his stomach and stuff.
Plus Touhou isn't an anime it's a PC98/Windows Game to the person who said it. Not pointing this comment towards you Postal.
Also from the Wikia for Binding of Isaac
Trivia:
Gluttony is probably a reference to Govenor Cassus Vicus, a boss in the game Clive Barker's Jericho who also has a big belly with a vertical fissure along his body that he opens up to spew out blood as attack.
It might also be a reference to a character of the same name in the manga Fullmetal Alchemist, who in one scene attacked by opening his stomach (which had an eye inside it, similar to the one on The Binding of Isaac's Gluttony).
Just for those who don't read the pages for the bosses.
Also I'm not saying the Wiki is right or saying it is a reference to FMA by the way. Just posting things.
Anyways on topic of the Expansion.
Shame it got pushed back to Late May. Hope I don't forget to save back 3 bucks to buy it.
Ok well still glutonny isn't inspired by anything from animes or other peoples video games. It's the vis enemy with a head stuck on top, which in turn is taken from Gish, which was in turn a little inspired by butterball from hellraiser.
But it's still not anime.

No one said anything about references, only getting inspiration from.
The man plays a lot of games and he's applied his experiences into his work in some form or another. There's nothing ruling out the possibility of him having played through a few bullet-hell games in his time just as there is nothing ruling out the possibility of him having taken inspiration from a film (which, mind you, there is nothing backing nor rejecting the claim that he took inspiration from Hellraiser for Vis/Gluttony).

Yeah when I said references I meant inspired by.
Uhhh and yes, there is something backing the claim he was sorta inspired to make the vis from hellraiser.. Edmund McMillen

lmao this is a silly discussion but not much else to talk about i guess since the game was delayed.
So who's got some gimmick playthroughs that they want to throw around? I'm feeling like doing another one. I already got "No Treasure Rooms as ???" done earlier.

A sadistic one:
Cain without stores and slot machines, only treasure rooms.

I'll see how far my luck with blood donation machines, skull games, and beggars go.
Do Devil Rooms count as a store since there's still an exchange going on, just with hearts instead of money? Same applies with the Error Room, there's a chance that some of the items in there need to be purchased.

Dont use a single penny.
Anyone know what happened to Edmund McMillen's twitter account?
Anyone know what happened to Edmund McMillen's twitter account?
Apparently got hacked.
According to his forumspring, he won't be getting it back and he won't make a new twitter. Looks like he's just gonna stick with making announcements from time to time on the team meat twitter.

It probably got hacked by some asshole who got pissed about the expansion being delayed till late May.

from 50% to 80%, aw yeahhh.
Dont use a single penny.
Done as Cain. Didn't spend a single cent, not even to enter the Arcade so I could raid the blood donation machines
In Caves 2, I get to fight with the Fallen. Pretty early in the game, but I pulled through without a hitch, and I got something incredible:

The rest of the game was a complete steamroll. I even picked up stuff like Liver and Bandage and 1-up.

I had so much goddamn health from the Nail, I recklessly took damage on every room in Sheol so I could milk the Dead Bird for all of its worth, I never once saw my maximum health once I got over 12 total hearts, the Spirit Hearts from the Nail, marked rocks, and Balls of Steel pills were coming way faster than I could get hit :v:
So by avoiding doing what you are supposed to do with Cain, you got an even better run?
Apparently the sad looking worm on the left of the teaser poster is called Pin who appears in the cellar(?)

Hardest new boss obviously
