No damage run! :v:
Okay, not like I haven't done that before. :v:
How about only use bombs in that room and that room alone and not against enemies?
I normally only use bombs in combat when I have Fetus in a Jar, otherwise I just use them for blowing up rocks, walls, and doors :v:
This is exactly what I do with bombs. I only actually force myself to use bombs on enemies when it's during the final fight with satan.
This is exactly what I do with bombs. I only actually force myself to use bombs on enemies when it's during the final fight with satan.
I only really use 1 on the Fallen before the fight begins so a chain explosion with the two exploding eye things happens right when he spawns. The Satan fight itself I'm better off just shooting him dead, I will seldom use bombs because I prefer to constantly be hammering away at his health, which leads to me nudging placed bombs away from him. Of course, the final form is a crapshoot if I'm going to use bombs, I'd rather focus on avoiding the feet and exploding enemies. Edmund did say that there were going to be some new items that encourage bomb use in combat, so I'm looking forward to that. Fetus in a Jar is the most fun item to get for me, if there were more items that encouraged explosive use, I'd pick it up as soon as I can. [editline]11th May 2012[/editline] I sometimes use them during the It Lives fight just to speed it up. And I rescind my earlier statement, I do use bombs in combat if there's a two-for that I can pull with it. Mostly blowing up marked rocks or opening secret rooms. It makes more efficient use of the bomb by getting its utility and its damage in 1 explosion.
I like how on each playthrough, I continue to find ways to milk an exploit for all its worth or find a new one. If you activate Whore of Babylon with a Blood Donation Machine, the invincibility period lasts long enough to get a free use out of it because the use-cooldown on the machine wears off during the time that the "What a horrible night to have a curse" message flashes onscreen. I managed to get so much cash by exploiting that. Instead of making few trips from full health to the Blood Donation Machine, I would take frequent trips from only 1 heart so that I would almost constantly be triggering the WoB so I could fish an extra use from it at zero cost. I had 99 cents by the end of Caves 2 and nabbed 3 Blood Bags over the course of the entire run as Eve :v:
I need more challenges, this wasn't very hard at all :v:
No item or damage run as Eve.
I finally beat Sheol as eve, the last of the characters. It was a BITCH, because I couldn't find a single damage up. Then, I got that spiky-whatever version of the Halo, decided this run might be pretty good. Got Mom's Knife in Basement 2. hell yes
If I don't get a damage up item with Eve in the first treasure room, I usually just start all over. I don't have enough patience to shoot every single fly at least twice.

If you play your cards right, you're going to get at least one Devil Room along the way that you can leverage into a damage bonus, either directly or in the form of a familiar.
I'm striving to earn golden god before the 28th, because I'm afraid the conditions will rise and I'll have to 100% the DLC :v:
I'm striving to earn golden god before the 28th, because I'm afraid the conditions will rise and I'll have to 100% the DLC :v:
They won't rise, Edmund explicitly said that the new 100% achievement will be Platinum God. Golden God will merely be 100% pre-WotL content.

Eve is my favorite character for a damn reason.
Or even better: sacrifice all of your hearts to get a permanent whore of babylon. Eve is my favorite character for a damn reason.
Trading all of one's hearts to get Perma-WoB status works too, but for some reason after I did that, everything was dealing 1 full spirit heart worth of damage (I was on Depths 1, so it wasn't because I was in the Womb or below). I don't know if that's a bug or a way to make that into a high-risk high-reward thing. However, I like to have 2 heart containers for 1 key reason: Blood Donation Machines. I raid them for as much money as possible. The reason why I want 2 heart containers is so that I do not waste any full hearts that are lying around. Better to get 2 uses than 1 use. Stack that on top of the BDM + WoB exploit I found earlier, I'm usually rolling in cash by the end of the first half of the game without even needing to try my hand at the slots or shell game.
I'm super happy. Today, I finally got around to replaying this game some more, and beat Satan with Isaac, killed Moms Heart with Dead Baby, and got a whole bunch of other achievements. Today is a good day.

I've got my new computer downloading my Steam library now. Should I start BoI from scratch or transfer my save to the new one? Particularly once WotL is released.
Restart from scratch and 100% the game before WotL is released.
Guys guys guys [t]http://puu.sh/vOQG[/t] I found Dr. Fetus for the first time now, I hope I won't blow myself up too fast. Oh man, I got Bobby-bomb, spectral tears and Mr. Mega, this is gonna be good. Well, this was fun. [t]http://puu.sh/vPdR[/t] I found both Fetus and Brimstone in one go even though I have never seen them before. [t]http://puu.sh/vPiv[/t] FUCK.
Just 8 more days, fellas. I'm pretty hyped up for it.

It DOES fill up your damage to full, but I don't think that effects bombs. What I love is getting Dr. Fetus and getting Mr. Mega/Bobby-Bombs. Fuckin' awesome. Edit: Here's a video Showcasing brimstone in use. It's the red blood beam. As such, it doesn't work with Dr. Fetus.

Note: Normally, you can't spam it to such degree. The chocalate milk powerup lets you shoot before it's fully charged, but it's a poor decision as it makes it waaay weaker.

I had noclipping-mega-homing bombs, such a waste :(

I've played 10+ hours due to hype for the May 28th DLC coming. I can't wait! I read on the wiki that there's apparently three new characters going to be added. So exciting. plus of course the huge expansion of new enemies and floors.

The only other character that he's mentioned was suggested by us here - a character with randomized base stats and starting items. And he said that while he'd love to do that, he wouldn't be able to fit it into WotL without pushing it back a fair amount. He also mentioned that he'll likely include it into a port release of the game (potentially for Vita) and simultaneously release the currently-unnamed character for PC players as DLC -- he made no mention if it would be paid-DLC or free-DLC. The only explanation that I can muster for the wiki listing 3 new characters is confusion. The challenge runs - a new feature to be added in WotL - give the player a pre-determined set of items to beat the game with. One of which is Fetus in a Jar + Doctor's Remote, which was affectionately called "Dr. Fetus challenge." I'm presuming that people are confusing challenge runs with full-blown characters; while Edmund did make a mention that he'd like to have a character that spawns with Fetus in a Jar, the only mention he's made of such a thing since then was the challenge run, which does not necessarily require a standalone character.
You need to be able to make Challenge runs. It would be awesome as shit.
Edmund only made mention of Samson being included in the update.
And he's made vague references to Abel being in the expansion as well. Basically all he's ever said when asked about him as a playable character was "beat the game as Cain and find out!" so who knows, but that and the random stat guy are probably where this three characters talk is coming from.

Anyone mind linking to where he's made explicit mentions of him? [editline]21st May 2012[/editline] Nevermind, I dug it up myself. Cool.

You unlock him after completing the dr fetus challenge. A random stats and item character would've been cool! Also I love the idea I creating your own challenge runs.
