I think that even with the DLC, leapers are still the worst enemy (although mini-greeds come pretty close).
Does Widow count?
Does Widow count?
Widow is a boss. Leapers are common enemies.
Not really fair to compare considering they are on completely different levels of power.
I wasn't arguing in favor of a rename. I was pointing out how Larry being in Super Meat Boy doesn't invalidate him making an appearance in the Binding of Isaac. There's a difference.
The very original quote was about a rename.
The very original quote was about a rename.
And the response to that quote was attempted (and faulty) justification for it not being a rename.
Am I not allowed to agree with him but tell him that he's right for the wrong reason?

Out of the common enemies I'd agree, Leapers are good at ruining runs. Half of the times because I simply don't want to bother with them. :v:

Leaping Spiders are worse because of how fast they are. Leapers are easier because they're slower and it's not hard to dodge their high-jump attack unless you're already up shit's creek without a paddle.
Psychopath, while I understand your argument, I disagree with your individual points.
Leapers are easier because they're slower
That's true, except they're very fast when they leap (which is very often). It's difficult to get multiple shots in on them.
it's not hard to dodge their high-jump attack unless you're already up shit's creek without a paddle.
If you're fighting 4 or more of them, it's pretty much impossible to dodge because there's almost always one leaping directly at you, plus three hopping, plus the bullets that they spawn. I usually get hurt by leapers when I dodge one, only to walk into the bullet of one I dodged 3 seconds ago.
Also, I find that killing the spiders is fairly easy if you stay out of their reach. That being said, both of them probably need a nerf of some kind.

Spiders just got a large health nerf, they're much easier now.
For those wondering, this is the Platinum God menu screen.
I had a lot of fun with it
The Nun's Habit is such a funny Item. Isaac looks ridiculous :v:
I had the Dove, Habit and Brimstone earlier. So I was a daemonic nun with angel wings.
On my current play, I've only found the "shield" items and health increases. Plus one damage increase. I currently have 5 flies and a mini meat boy thing shielding me, and killing anything that touches me. This in combination with my 8 health makes me quite a tank. Too bad it takes ages to kill anything.
I'm shit at the Binding of Isaac.
So, in yet another futile attempt to win, I make it up to The Depths. In the first part, I had Guppy's Paw, and I kept spamming it not knowing what it does. Somehow, this knocked me down to half a soul heart.
I waited for my death, until I noticed; I'm not DYING.
Just laughing in Monstro 2's face while shooting the hell out of him with homing blood felt so good.
So me, being the retard I am, head over to collect my loot from the boss fight. I get Stem Cell Research, returning me my normal heart containers.
Oh no.
Oh NO.
So, I get to Necropolis to test my invicibilty.
DEAR DIARY,
TODAY I BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
fffffffffFUCK

That looks really cool.
How do you unlock challenge 10? or is it bugged..
That looks really cool.

"HEY BRO I SAW YOU GOT POLYPHEMUS AND TECHNOLOGY 2. YOU ALSO GOT AROUND 7 HEART SLOTS, HEY MAN I WONDER WHAT THAT DEAD CAT SITTING ON THAT ROCK AFTER FIGHTING THE FALLEN WILL DO? OH THATS RIGHT, IT GIVES YOU 1 FUCKING HEART."
just got this shit on depths 1. problem is, everything there does 1 heart of damage
run ended
just got this shit on depths 1. problem is, everything there does 1 heart of damage
What? No. Only brains deal 1 heart of damage in depths
Just kicked the tar out of the final boss with ???, now I need to do the challenges and collect the items that I've unlocked and I'll have Platinum God.
It's just kinda hard to remember what items I'm looking for when the notifications don't show up. I'll just blaze through the game with the D6 until I see something that I don't recognize.
What? No. Only brains deals 1 heart of damage in depths
Or the coloured enemies
/stronger version of normal enemies
I can't remember the right name for them
Champions
Yeaaaaaaaah just completed it my first time with cain!
Only took 11hours!
Just beat Mom's heart as Eve without ever using Whore of Babylon and retaining my 1 attack power until the end.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23046202/adwadaw.png[/t]
I got the book of revelations early on, so I managed to make a lvl 3 meat boy. I would have had lvl 4 but I ran into the Headless Horseman so I didn't get a cube from him for some reason. During Mom's heart I just shot my shitty weak tears doing like no damage while the dead crow and meat boy made mince meat out of her and her spawns.
As soon as I beat the game with Magdelene I'm going to buy the DLC
[sp]Isaac[/sp] is a fucking joke with the Mega Fetus. Plus all-round he felt far easier to beat than Satan.

Yeah, he was no problem at all when I had homing Ipecac. Just stayed on one side of the room and lobbed 15-20 bombs in his direction.
Y'know, one thing I wonder is this; would having a sort of "sub-weapon" slot, similar in functionality to the sub-weapons in the old-school Castlevania games, be a viable strategy? They'd be activated similar to CV subweapons, like hold down a button and press one of the directional shooting keys to use the current subweapon, with each use using up some kinda resource that functions like Castlevania's hearts, except they'd probably be called something like "Candy", complete with air-quotes (most likely they'd be medicinal tablets, another thing Isaac might've found in the bathroom cabinet along with the pills), and be found in the form of pickups similar to hearts, coins, bombs and keys.
If done right, like having certain tears-altering items affect the subweapon instead of regular tears, as well as having certain powerful items being changed from tears-changers to subweapons, it could not only offer increased versatility in combat, but also help balance out certain "OP" items by making them cost a valuable resource, meaning that you'd be wise to use them sparingly and not waste all your "Candy" on a room.
Also, final thought; if and when the game is done in C++ (I heard something about that being done for console versions), should Edmund make it mod-friendly? If the game COULD be modded, and connected to Steam Workshop, the game's potential variety and replayability could skyrocket beyond the already huge current level of content due to an influx of third-party content; it could result in all sorts of new unofficial stuff to augment one's Isaac experience, including new items, levels, challenge runs, enemies, basically whatever a modder could make with the tools at hand. Even though Wrath of the Lamb is apparently the last big thing for Isaac, mod support would result in it becoming one of the BEST things.

I'd really like to see modding for Isaac; a lot of things need fixing. And even if there's never full-blown modding, it would be cool to be able to make your own challenges and share them.

79 hours in and I still can't beat Satan. The fallen stage always hits me a bunch and then I usually get murdered by the enemies he spawns in his last stage. I am aware this makes me terrible but I fully blame my keyboard. [sp]Isaac/???[/sp] gave me no trouble whatsoever though, I almost hope it gets buffed to be honest.
What does Book of Revelations do?
What does Book of Revelations do?
It gives you one soul heart every charge
Combination with Battery + 9 Volt and you will get a soul heart every two rooms
Combination with Habit + The Wafer and you're invincible the whole game as long as you use the book each time it recharges

Don't worry bro, I only just beat him yesterday with a similar playtime as you. He really is a hard boss. I never had trouble getting him down to his last form but then he always stomped my shit.
I beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] as every character now
yaaaay
Does anyone know what the matchstick does? Its not on the wiki
