I tried the spike floor room once. It took 4 entire hearts and in return gave me a chest with two troll bombs. What a deal.
How are you guys having all these issues with samson? He's much better than Maggie. I beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] with him day 2 and by day 3 I was done with all the characters.
Samson's fire rate is damned pathetic. Gotta have some sort of + to firerate to make him any good.

Chocolate Milk seems to have taken a hit from the latest patch... charged shots are tiny.
I got the same shit, except with Eve in Whore-Mode + Chocolate Milk.
Considering her base Damage, I had no idea if Eve was doing less damage on chocolate milk shots.
Holy shit guys, sorry if I'm late but

Be warned, the images aren't organized very well. While images that function similarly are grouped together, it's still a clusterfuck.
judas is the best or the worst depending on if you get some health ups or a book of rev or something
Judas is the best character if you can dodge worth a damn.
With dodging comes more opportunities to hold onto soul hearts, more chances of encountering a Devil Room, and more opportunities to continue to stack your health upgrades that you collect along the way. Having a Book of Revelations is a bit boring when it becomes your end-all item-to-get just to survive the game as Judas.
If you're terrible at dodging, then you're going to be stuck with red hearts pretty much the entire way, you're better off with Maggie in that case due to her high starting health and Yum Heart.
I really like Judas, I usually don't depend too much on power and don't mind chipping while dodging, except under special circumstances. I don't like that he has one heart, but considering the fact that getting a damage up item like Odd Mushroom or the Halo increases your damage just a little will allow you to one-shot red flies, it seems fair. Also, I seem to get luckier pills with him than I do with Cain :v:
I need to make a full collection list to work out what im missing and how to get it. running over and over hoping that i get new stuff is hard work
Prayer card is really bomb. Using it right after boss fights for that instant HP, and then if your really good at dodging, you can pretty much get even more hearts by just using it every now and then.
Not only that, but it makes a great damage sponge when you need it most.

Those are really useful. I can see myself using these, so thank you for that.

If youre really good at dodging, why would you need hearts?
If youre really good at dodging, why would you need hearts?
You can utilize those hearts to trade for Devil Items. Or you can trade them for sacrificial rooms or use them as fuel for Blood Rights, Razor Blade, Kamikaze, or Red Patch.

It's always nice to have some plenty of hearts in case something goes wrong too!
It's always nice to have some plenty of hearts in case something goes wrong too!
Yep. For me, something always goes wrong. In the event of Leapers, I always keep a few extra hearts at hand!
Beat the Purist. I'm very lucky that I had a Bad Trip pill on hand, I took 1 more damage after I used it and that was it, had I not had the pill I would have surely been killed on the final boss in his final 10% of health.
All that's left is to unlock Guppys Hairball and then simply find all of the items.
I've never gotten anything good from the spike rooms. They tend to give me one non-golden chest, if anything. And I'll often re-trace the entire floor, picking up every un-used heart to hit the spikes some more, and it never gives me anything else.
Do they only give one item per floor or something? And do they ever offer anything good, like a pedestal item, or are they pretty much a waste of time?

From my experience they're a complete waste of time. It was a good idea but it hasn't worked.

Pretty sure gold chests had pedestal items in them on rare occasions.
Pretty sure gold chests had pedestal items in them on rare occasions.
They still do. However, it's a rare encounter, hardly worth sacrificing all of your soul hearts and many of your red hearts for a chance at one.

They are not a waste of time only if you have Guppy and no HP powerups.
Just come in, die, get something. You should still have some lives left.

You're way better off using the Guppy exploit on boss rooms to get guaranteed pedestal items instead of gambling your extra lives for a chance at something that could just be bombs, keys, or money.

Oh, so it's 1-2 weeks now?
3 weeks, calling it now
Got my tenth mom kill now - yay. I think I'm getting the hang of this game. That or I'm just getting more lucky item drops.
I beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] with the dreaded Ipecac
I beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] with the dreaded Ipecac
You are brave I always pass on that item.
I have found this game (with Cain):
Ouja Board
Tough Love
Ipecac
The Sad Onion
and best of all:
Technology 2
Every god damn time. My items never go together. In case you don't know what those items are:
Technology 2 gives you a laser, but with Cain you no longer fire tears. All of the other items are awesome tear upgrades. And my first item was tech 2, so I couldn't really skip it.
[editline]6th June 2012[/editline]
Oh just found Jesus Juice too (range+tears up)
And Polyphemus
Oh and Wire Coat Hanger
Does this stuff affect Tech 2 at all?
Just found some items to max out my damage and increase my health, rocking now.
Oh wow, just killed [sp]Mom's Heart[/sp] using this. Max damage tech is beastly.
