Thanks for the fast reply. You are right, I never picked up Cupid's Arrow before, and I thought that it replaces tears with arrow.
Finally unlocked Guppy's Hairball. Now all that remains is to collect the rest of the items that I haven't picked up.
I don't use Dead Cat all that often, so I didn't know you could take Devil Items that you cannot afford. I took Bloody Lust for 2 hearts when I had 1 heart. At the time, I had just picked up Guppy's Head and completed the trifecta of cat items, I forgot that I had more lives, I just wanted to commit suicide so the game would end, but I was on necropolis 2, so I decided to blaze through the remainder of the challenge -- a measly 1 floor (and then I found mega fetus, so that floor was just a victory lap for me). It cost me one life, but at least I found a niche use for the item aside from the boss item exploit -- Devil items are usually more powerful than boss items anyway.
Well I just beat [sp]Isaac[/sp] again, as Isaac, thanks to my third run in a row with the Epic Fetus, gonna work towards Golden God now I s'pose, I reset my save and locked all my achievements 2 or 3 days ago to see how fast I could unlock all the things.

I have Brimstone, and I heard about how good it works with Tech 2, so should I?

Do it. Unless you're Cain, then don't do it.
I FINALLY BEAT SATAN AS SAMPSON
Now I don't have to play as that motherfucker ever again
This game looks so weird, is it worth the money?
Bought it a little over a week ago.
Played 32 hours of it already, worth more than the 5 dollars.
So yeah, buy it.
You are brave I always pass on that item.
I picked it up thinking it was Chemical Peels :v:
Samson isn't so bad.
I see what blood lust was intended for. It works wonders in those arena rooms with multiple enemy spawns, and works just as well with a boss that spawns minions, too. Anything else, you're fucked. However, when you're late into the game with 2 rows of items, it hardly matters what the base stats were. Except ipecac god awful item frever
Samson is pretty much a weaker version of Judas.
The difference is that Judas deals much more damage and has a better starting item (damage multiplier)

Here's Samson's problem:
He has nothing to define himself amongst the other characters, positively. Isaac is the jack of all trades and sports luck manipulation. Madelaine has high base health and health regeneration. Cain has good luck on his side, and higher base damage and a unique tear mechanic brought by his lack of an eye. Judas is the definition of a glass cannon, sporting high base damage and a damage multiplier item. Eve is catered towards self sacrifice and has higher-than-normal base speed and tears. ??? is the joke character, having absolutely no red hearts and spawning with a shitty item but on the flipside all items that require low red hearts are always active for him.
Samson has an item that anyone can pick up from a treasure room, devil room, or blood donation machine and he has terrible rate of fire and low base health.
Why would anyone want to use Samson aside from gimping themselves?

there a bug with brimstone and tech 2. brimstone charges but won't fire because of tech 2 constant fire.
I really don't think it's fair to compare any of the characters to each other, each one is too unique. Judas has an extra damage that can't kill red flies in one hit, so it's hard to notice it, and his "wow judss soo pwrful XDD" is just the Book of Belial. Samson, on the other hand, hits soft and slow, but gradually hits harder as the room goes on. They are completely different.

What? Judas has double the base damage Samson has.
So not really, no.

Samson's problem is that he hits too slowly and about 90% of the rooms you'll encounter, Bloody Lust will not help you on at all. He excels on rooms with mook spawners, such as against Hives, Chub, or Mom; but he's way too slow to attack in order to actually keep that pressure on in regular rooms. A majority of rooms, the enemies will all be dead before Bloody Lust has increased the damage a significant amount.
Even if Bloody Lust were to get a buff, Samson still would be bottom of the barrel; it'd be far more advantageous to find Bloody Lust as any other character because Samson's base stats suck balls.

WHERE??????
Edit: Oh, I guess liberty cap. Not really a real mushroom item but ok
Why would anyone want to use Samson aside from gimping themselves?
Aside from getting the achievement and just finishing the game with all characters, not a lot.
I suppose I didn't see all the bad in him because I finished the game with him first go, but he really is a bit of a stick.
Once you get blood lust unlocked, there really is no other reason to go back to him.
Samson needs at least one of the following in order to remain competitive with the other characters:
A buff for his starting stats -- He currently starts with 1 heart, 2 points of attack power and speed, 1 point in attack speed and range. Zero bombs, keys, or coins. For reference, Isaac has the same attack power and speed. Eve has the same base damage. Cain has the same range. Other characters cannot achieve Samson's rate of fire without use of tears down items and pills.
and/or
An additional starting item, preferably one that compliments his intended berserker playstyle. The reason why people play as Eve if they want to play a sacrificial playstyle is because she starts with 2 items that work well for that intent -- if someone wanted to do that as any other character, they would require getting lucky with 2 specific items. Considering how many items there are, this is an increasingly difficult feat, which is why Eve starting with 2 of them right out of the gate makes her a prime choice for those players. Samson needs something more to compliment his playstyle, be it a passive like Bloody Lust or an active item like Maggie's Yum Heart; he just needs something more.

Give sampson an activateble sad onion+max range item problem solved.
Range isn't really much of an issue a lot of the time unless you pick up Number One or My Reflection.
For Samson, his current passive doesn't have much effect on a vast majority of rooms, and even on rooms where it does have an effect, his terrible rate of fire and low base damage makes it incredibly boring to play as him (and having only 1 heart only means that there's more opportunities to lose that heart as the fight drags on with his terrible damage output).
Judas works well because his high damage is always active, and his super-high damage is once every so often. Samson's high damage is only at the end of fights, he doesn't need something that needs to be activated, I think he'd benefit far far more from a passive to compliment his playstyle (along with some less-sucky base stats).

It still isn't that powerful though. Sure, it's really good compared to Samson, but the only noticeable difference when you first start off as Judas is those shooty flies can die in two hits, whereas any other character (excluding Cain) requires 3 shots.

It is that powerful when you remember that he has a damage multiplier in his hands. Needing less shots in the early game makes it easier for him to steamroll through rooms. Once he gets a few damage upgrades, his Book of Belial becomes even more powerful.

Mining Helmet and X-Ray Glasses
Are you kidding me
have fun the brim tech 2 bug
That bug happens only if you get Brimstone AFTER you get Tech 2 IIRC.
Samson, on the other hand, hits soft and slow, but gradually hits harder as the room goes on.
The thing about that, though, is that as the room goes on there are less and less things which are useful to do huge amounts of damage on. I don't need to oneshot the last Leaper or Spider in the room; I need the most concentrated power right when I walk through the door and get bumrushed by seven at once.
And this isn't even bringing up that the two final-final bosses, who you are supposed to have all your guns primed and ready for, only spawn appreciable amounts of minions in their final "spam everywhere clusterfuck for everyone" phase. But on the bright side, I can sure take down The Duke of Flies well!
Oh my God
I defeated Satan
With Ipecap
AND THE DEAD CAT
2 lifes left and only one heart
shit was intense.
