Is there anything interesting/important in the kinectoscopes? I quit watching them after like the first 10 as it felt like it was breaking up the flow of the gameplay a little.
I just use upgraded bucking bronco for troops and regular shock jokey for patriots and handymen. Shotgun + Carbine rifle, upgraded full shield and half health. Been slicing through 1999 mode so easily so far. [sp]About to face lady comstock[/sp]. I wonder if I am fucked with my choices. Edit, had a spoiler bolded instead of spoilered for a second, just woke up lol.
I wonder if I am fucked with my choices.
I don't think that's even possible. Even 1999 doesn't require you to plan ahead with what you upgrade, I didn't upgrade any of my vigors during. You're only fucked if you suck.
I beat it in a solid 9 and a half hour run yesterday. Got sucked into it so hard.
Finished it. Crazy writing and storytelling, not like anything I've ever seen before. But I think I understand it all pretty well.
I know I'm late to this but People need to stop putting this right next to bioshock when comparing game play. Unarguably this is not even the same genre as the original or even the 2nd bioshock and a lot of things were changed because of this. Bioshock infinite is an Action based shooter with RPG elements as opposed to Bioshock 1 which was a horror RPG. Like I get that there are somethings to compare but just saying "Bioshock Infinite did this wrong because it was in Bioshock 1 and not this" is stupid. They're not the same game or even the same type of game so stop treating it like they are.

You don't even have to suck that much: a simple slip up can get you in a rut in the game that only makes it harder as you go on.

That way by end game you've got nothing to spend your money on and will have shit loads of dosh saved up for back up lives. I had like $3800 bucks by the end of my 1999 playthrough.
How the fuck does Delta eat
I eat one bite at a time, unless its fries then I fucking eat them like my life depended on it. [editline]4th April 2013[/editline]
I played the game for a hour and found it extremely boring. A shooter where I walk around killing people. Now what? Is there a point to play further?
What?
What?
come on is what he said so hard to understand he played the game and didn't like the gunplay granted he only played for an hour
come on is what he said so hard to understand he played the game and didn't like the gunplay granted he only played for an hour
What was he expecting? It's fine for a shooter. Does he buy RPGs and go, "What's up with all these stats and shit?"

By the way these feel extremely cheaply made too, they even use some story sequences for these clips, kinda lame. I would recommend though that you watch the ones in Comstock house, they're very interesting.
By the way these feel extremely cheaply made too, they even use some story sequences for these clips, kinda lame.
You do realise that is the entire point? They're supposed to emulate the early days of film making.
I think they kind of looked like G-Mod videos.
[sp]Why didn't the Founders and Vox soldiers use vigors? I know about the firemen and crowmen, but what was stopping any random dude from chugging down any vigor he saw, like Booker? Hell, why not Elizabeth?[/sp]

Hell, why not Elizabeth?[/sp]
I don't think they were like a big thing yet. Hence the whole fair where they were handing out samples and stuff. I don't think they were very stable yet either given that every enemy you see who used them a lot wasn't exactly mentally stable.
yes Also after playing this at a friends house I'm considering purchasing this. Is that a good idea?
What I want to know [sp]is what allegiance the Firemen and Zealots are - at first it seems like the Firemen are specialized Founders Troopers and the Zealots clearly support the Founders and demonize Abraham Lincoln. But then you start seeing them fighting alongside the Vox, who idolize Abraham Lincoln. They don't even have any faction-specific skins like the Vox-affiliated Patriots and Handymen.[/sp]

Today I learned that you can carry a max of 30 lock picks.
I really must want something different out of the shock series games, as they have gotten progressively worse for me over time. Well, mostly worse, System shock 2 was great, an improvement over the original. The first bioshock was decent. I lamented the loss of a lot of gameplay features, but hey, neat setting, so whatever. But they keep cutting gameplay elements. The worst one remains the removal of the inventory. Fuck you. I'll carry as many guns as I have space for. Or I'll carry one gun and fuckloads of ammo. Or maybe I won't carry any guns, but just a lot of mental stims. Now we have lost the ability to hack things and the game doesn't even bother to pretend like you won't wind up with all the vigor powers. The choice is now almost entirely gone, whether it be story or tactical. Just shoot everyone in the head and then swap to whatever weapon they spoon feed you next. Oh hey look pants that make better after doing something involving a skyline. I will never use those pants. Ever. This is in addition to a bunch of other gear pieces that are borderline worthless. Stealth is almost entirely gone. Both the original bioshock and System Shock 2 had a sort of stealth where you tried to avoid detection until you could control the terms, but infinite pretty much laughs at any attempt along those lines. Every fight is against a horde. None of the weapon upgrades are remotely interesting. The system could have gone two ways based generally on what they have: A) You could have a couple of interesting upgrades for each gun, such as a burst fire for the pistol or a double magazine for the carbine. B) You have a max number of upgrades for a weapon, but get to choose what stats to boost. Choosing the same stat boost twice results in a penalty of some kind. So choose damage twice and you get a recoil penalty from the magnum ammo or choose magazine capacity twice and get a penalty to reload speed. Instead we get completely uninspired upgrades. An excellent setting and a neat story, but I really feel like they just keep cutting down on the actual game part. It is rather depressing. Taken completely on its one, Infinite wouldn't be bad by any stretch of the imagination, but when compared to its predecessors I was rather disappointed.
Truth. If you cut out the story we have a fairly bland gameplay foundation. It does feel like choices have been cut out more and more as the series has gone on. But it's all about that "accessibility", right?
[sp]Two Zealots show up with the Vox on your second visit to the square outside the Prophet's Bank, some firemen show up with the Vox before the whole Bank square segment.[/sp]
[sp]My guess is the alternate timeline was a timeline where the Vox or people had some vigors, or they could've picked em up like you did[/sp]
Truth. If you cut out the story we have a fairly bland gameplay foundation. It does feel like choices have been cut out more and more as the series has gone on. But it's all about that "accessibility", right?
I don't get what this whole casualization deal everyone is going on about suddenly is (especially with the whole choices thing), the removal of choice in this game does not make the story any more accessible. I also think the fact that the game has less RPG elements than it's predecessors makes it cheaper considering it was not trying to be the same genre of game as the past two.
I don't get what this whole casualization deal everyone is going on about suddenly is (especially with the whole choices thing), the removal of choice in this game does not make the story any more accessible.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the story. I'm talking about pure gameplay; none of the Bioshock games had amazing gameplay, but Infinite feels like a step down in terms of options in fights. You can't really sneak, you can't hack, you can't really use the environment as much, the guns are basic, and the whole tears system amounted to summoning turrets to win fights.
I figured those guys were with the first wave of Founders that came out.
This is when you go back following [sp]Lady Comstock's ghost.[/sp] All the Founders are dead by then.
