Finished 1999 mode. Easy as fuck holy shit. The mode should either make death permanent or take like 400-500 money after death instead of like 50. Upgraded bronco OP as fuck, especially with the kill-chaining clothes slot.
It takes $100???
Holy fuck upgraded charge is fucking Mass Effect Vanguard train
It takes $100???
Meh I dunno, I died twice barely even noticed any money dropped. My bad.
And the only reason I died was because I tried to meele a patriot and wanted to see if fire burns :(
I really expected the game to be a lot LOT harder towards the ends. Some people were crying how they got raped by the [sp]siren[/sp], was excited before I got to that part and destroyed everything. :(
Hard mode is pretty easy too outside of a couple fights.

Huntsman Carbine master race.
I thought the game was rather bad, it's just another generic FPS. I give this game the same I gave Dishonoured, a 4/10. DNF
>Inb5 shitstorm
but in all seriousness I could not continue playing after about 2 hours, its just the same repetitive boring shoot this guy go here shoot this guy. I did however enjoy Bioshock 1 (bioshock 2 was bad).
Glad I didn't waste $80 getting this one.
I like how everyone jumped on this guy, lol.
I beat the game, understood the story, and still think its not that great. 7/10 at best. I pretty much had to force myself to sit down and finish it, and the first two were some of my favorite games. This one felt very repetetive, had a few noticable plot holes, etc.

At least you finished.
Alright, here's my opinion about the 1999 Mode:
Good:
- Enemies that shoot to kill, not hurt
- Ammo on enemies is pretty much non-existent
- Died? Money penalty
- Snipers WILL kill you in one hit (in Normal and Hard, like 5/4 hits [I also never knew that snipers existed in the game until I died 3 times on this mode])
- Normal enemies dies on the same amount of hits you do
Alright:
- Handymen become holy mothers to kill, and 2 hits equals [del]death[/del]money penalty
- Patriot become even more bullet sponges, assuming you aren't first
- Flanking enemies WILL kill you, but only with melee/shotgun (I was kinda surprised when a guy with a carbine flanked me and didn't kill me)
- Elizabeth becomes a LOT more useful
Bad:
- Health and Ammo can be found everywhere else (the game should limit those, I found Carbine, Shotgun and Volley gun ammo on a trashcan)
- Dollar Bills still works/exist (should be desativated)
- Money penalty on death is just $100 (should be like this: 1 death: 10% of all money, 2, 15%, 3, 20%, and so forth)
- Revive and get ammo and salts (shouldn't happen)
- Reload checkpoint restores all things you lost (should be permanent)
I would of liked more enemy variety honestly and a way to loot more efficiently. Also I felt tears made some of the fights way to easy since you could just summon a patriot or turret and run away and then just summon them again once they died. Also Elizabeth gives too much ammo/salts/health during fights.

So 1999 mode actually evens out the damage between the player and the enemies, rather than making them bullet sponges? I love when hard modes do that, I might do a 1999 run then. Metro 2033's Ranger mode was perfect for that, I'm okay with dying from a few bullets as long as it applies to all enemies.
I really love the effect of the bullets hitting the patriots when using the crank gun.
Well, I just finished downloading the game, and someone spoiled the ending for me. :/

I cant speak for everyone but I jumped on the guy because he voiced his opinion like he was somehow smarter than everyone else.
For those that want to watch somebody suck humorously at 1999 mode, feel free to join me, because I'm going to be streaming it fairly shortly!
I'll be starting in about five minutes or so. (note there will be spoilers, obviously)
EDIT: Stream over! Will be streaming tomorrow night as well, just a little bit early. Thanks to all who joined me!
What I want to know [sp]is what allegiance the Firemen and Zealots are - at first it seems like the Firemen are specialized Founders Troopers and the Zealots clearly support the Founders and demonize Abraham Lincoln. But then you start seeing them fighting alongside the Vox, who idolize Abraham Lincoln. They don't even have any faction-specific skins like the Vox-affiliated Patriots and Handymen.[/sp]
[sp] Zealots are aligned with the Founders through the Order of the Raven, but some have defected blaming the Founders for Lady Comstock's death, the Fireman seem to fight for both sides, but mostly the Founders.[/sp]

[sp]I wonder if firemen even are conscious enough to understand their allegiance fully, I mean the shit they scream is pretty obviously highly religious (not to mention they're borderline jihadest) and they seem to be in some kind of haze state most of the time.[/sp]

Lovely.
Is 1999 scavenger mode fun? I'm playing 1999 mode now, but I feel cheap for using Dollar Bill machines.

was easy as all heck.

even the handymen. stand in front of handymen and medkits, spam him with devils kiss and magnum, getting med kits every time he hurts you, granting yourself temporarily invincibility with your clothing item.
literally can beat a handyman without moving from one spot standing right in front of him.

If you speed up the ambient sound, you'll hear it's just slowed down music.
