Notch should make it so that when you're covered by wood, the rain shouldn't make that noise, but instead, make the noise of rain coming down on a window. That'll make being in a house really cosy.
That rain is decades ahead of Oblivion. Now maybe Bethesda can learn something.
It'd be nice if there was some control over the frequency of weather. I'd like to be able to set the length and frequency of rainstorms. I suppose there's always mods for stuff like that, though.
NOTCH ADDS TWO FEATURES THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN REMOVED. WORSHIPED BY COMMUNITY. This update is much needed, but isn't anything massively amazing since both Rain and Snow had been in Minecraft before and were removed.
These are far improved. Were you even here with the original rain and snow? Wasn't the original snow just some randomized thing you would get when you made a world? And it wasn't even temporary, just all the time. And there was no lightening and the lighting never changed with weather. I can't wait for weather control mods that allow me to construct a weather control device and make it rain gold or fire or arrows.
This is awesome. The only complaint I have is the rain sound effect,as it sounds more like rain hitting water all the time and not just the ground. No big deal though, it does sound nice.
Sheep need to get heavy during the rain.
It'd be cool if too much rain would start to cause a flood.
This looks fantastic.
I'm loving the lightning effects.
I hope there is a possibility that thunderstorms and snowstorms might last for entire minecraft days, maybe even weeks.
I sure as hell hope that there is: Accumulating Rain Puddles (Too the point of floods, even) Hurricanes (As Mentioned Above) Lighting strikes destroy a 2x2x2 area, and fire is placed in a 2x2 area Snow accumulates on top of surfaces Different types of weather severity - Light Rain - Little to no accumulation, only in low places that already have water would you see it Medium Rain - accumulation somewhat more severe, it'll pop up on regular ground and below Heavy Rain (Hurricane) - Pops up anywhere that is in the open Same goes with snow, to the point where your house would be snowed in. To make it not seem unfair, I guess you could either make accumulation slow or rain showers fast. I'd rather the prior, because rain showers (especially heavy ones where you usually only need to worry about to much accumulation) don't last short whiles. I hope they think about this before releasing. I would have so much fun with Minecraft if they added hurricanes.

The lightning in the video hit sand. I would assume, if it hit wood or leaves or something, they would be set on fire. I'm completely for that, would be awesome. Just make a lightning rod or something and put it on top of your house so it doesn't burn down.

:10bux: that it releases next week saturday
Sucks pistons won't be addded in this update. However Notch could delay the pistons thing and work on a update that could add stuff like the lanterns, gears/redstone that can be placed on walls.Redstone doesn't really have a cool use right now, but if all this stuff got added we would be able to build amazing things.
I'm hoping we'll get super rare snow falls in biomes outside of the snow biomes. I have all my stuff in a forest biome, and having a snow day every now and then would be so awesome.
:10bux: it's delayed for 3 weeks, notch goes on a vacation, "works" on it, releases completely different features, vacation, 11/11/11
I just hope it won't rain 1 minute and then start raining again 1 minute after. That will be quiet a big problem for me because my main house is in rainforest. IMO redstone needs fixing, the amount of space you need to cover with it to make something cool just makes the world look ugly.
Aye, Pistons is truly an awesome-looking mod.
Good thing to see that the game doesn't get one update each 3 months.
I sure hope that this'll happen on older maps before this update, or at least them able to fix new stuff appearing in old worlds.
I'm not too sure if the rain only fills small holes or if it raises the water level as well. I hope it's the latter so that long periods of rain could cause floods or resevoirs occuring.

Ah finally there's weather! I think it adds more excitement in the game, also i like the rain bouncing on the ground and that it doesnt fall through roofs.
IMO, The snow biomes should always be snowing, but snow can happen in other biomes, but the snow that covers the land slowly goes away when its stopped snowing.
That snow looks like a blizzard..they need to make it a bit faster and less dense
