Freezing makes movement insanely slow, but I'd say hot's more effective. Freezing brings you to as cold as possible, hot seems to be about as hot as a major plasma fire.
With some cablecuffs and a metal sheet, you can always bucklecuff them under it... I think hot'll take you to crit in about 20 seconds, dead in 40, and skeleton by a minute or so. Lag dependant, of course.
Well that sounds very robust.

Once my friend and I escaped on a shuttle and he got turned into a skeleton but he was still able to move around. What does that mean?

First thing I do as a lawyer is find a crowbar. Makes sec do a double-take instead of just breezing past you.
It doesn't help that I always have it in the wrong hand and pry apart the floor tiles though.
When I actually manage to get into a court case as a lawyer it usually ends with me bombing the court room.
Judge is always a biased prick, gotta get justice one way or another.

Has there ever been a court case where the guy turns out to be declared not guilty in SS13?
Most of the time it ends in either a bombing, the captain running in and murdering the guy, or an electric chair being installed and the guy being executed.
Not to say that it's not fun, of course...

For what it's worth I almost always play as Paxton Patterson on tgstation. I've been on goonstation a lot less.
One of the admins began a vote for Nations on /tg/station, and I begin as a cyborg, which is currently my favorite class in the game. I roll out of the AI Chamber, pumped for this round. Maybe I could go and restore the Derelict to working condition, or just help out around the station and amass allies for whatever nation the AI belongs to?
Nope, the Research Director just blows all of the cyborgs literally fifteen seconds into the match.
I don't even know why the console is in his office, it seems like something that should be in the captain's quarters.

Any tutorials or anything I could use to lrn2play?

If I ever play as the AI I'm going to try and copy the Overwatch Dispatcher down to a T.
I just finished a game where I was an AI. Cultists managed to summon Nar-Sie, which eventually got into my chamber and ate me. The entire station just watched as it was annhilated.
A few friends and I were planning to get one of us into an AI core and have a battle of supremacy with the main AI. Soon..
There needs to be more videos of clown antics.
The other day on /tg/ a mime gave me all access and I had a kickin' rad time hoarding awesome shit from sec lockers and EVA. I wandered around maint for a while until I reached what I think was medbay. I wasn't set on destroying anything but I immediately got stunned and thrown into a glass chamber.
I'm not 100% on SS13 yet so all I can say was that there was a man-sized spider and and a monkey in the chamber. Not waiting around, I beat both to death and exclaimed that there had been a huge misunderstanding.
The folks outside the window accused me of being a wizard, on the grounds that I was hiding my face under a helmet, while the chamber flooded with some sort of gas. Again, not waiting to find out what it was I started bashing the glass in. If I was gonna die I decided to take the bastards with me. I was probably one swing away from letting the gas out of the chamber and into whatever lab I was in (and possibly the rest of the station?) before I passed out and died.
Next time I'm assistant I'm just gonna hide in the dorms.
