It is not a real beta, it is in alpha stage
The trailer was Alpha. When the MP Beta is released, it will be in beta stages. And yes, forge would be epic in Reach!
It's the same fucking game as Halo 3 but with a couple more guns and gamemodes. If you're dumb enough to add to the massive amount of cash they will be getting from adding a couple animations, then that's not my issue. There's so much recycled material it should be criminal to call this a sequel and slap a $60 price tag on it. It's also an improved engine, not a new one, maybe you should do a little research before you make such a bold statement followed by an insult.
Source is an improved Hovertank 3D engine. True story.
My emotion was irrelevant, I said I didn't expect to get attacked but I was met with "EAT A DICK" so I had no choice to respond, as for rephrasing it, it's kind of late for that.
You had no choice to respond. Wow. Gee after a statement like that, and the general tone of everyone's post pretty much bashing your 'opinion' yo would think that someone would realize there was no point in defending it against people who obviously think contrary to you. You will not change their minds, and they will not change yours. So there is really no point for you to be here at all, unless you crave the sort of obscure negative attention being rained down upon you. And that is quite sad.

I guess I should have just done what Stickmna said, but I didn't and I can't change that. Sorry for derailing this thread

Seriously, all I need to do is replace "Halo 3" with "Assassin's Creed 1" and your words would ring true. So what, you think that Bungie is re-using an old engine or something. Anything that handles a million polygons or so in a gun alone is fine by me. And going under the assumption the hatred make of saying that it's the same engine with recycled content, Bungie isn't the only studio that does it. And anyway, if you hate Halo, why even bother posting. You're not going to stop the fans from buying it, you idiots. Edit: Shit, the flame war is over. Sorry for late argument...
It should be noted that the trailer is just a taste. According to Bungie.net the best is yet to come.
What about MW2? I don't think that's a proper sequel either, so I didn't buy it
half life 2 episodes
half life 2 episodes
Whole argument is over, but I don't believe any of those were full priced on release, and they aren't sequels
May 3rd is my birthday, maybe this Halo won't suck like 3.
My friends love doing some Splitscreen or System Link, assassinating friends is going to be great fun.
Whole argument is over, but I don't believe any of those were full priced on release, and they aren't sequels
Left 4 Dead 2 [editline]02:08AM[/editline] I shouldn't derail it though I have to say I am hyped for this new halo [editline]02:08AM[/editline]
Whole argument is over, but I don't believe any of those were full priced on release, and they aren't sequels
ye I missed that post I reread
Whole argument is over, but I don't believe any of those were full priced on release, and they aren't sequels
Ok agreed. its obvious we started off at the wrong foot from our disagreements and i misplaced my hostilities, which i do feel like a dick for. So i sincerely apologize for my actions. so lets start over! Hi scorpion, I'm delta. I like to play games and i have pretty much every PC game you could name, and i also play xbox where i am a big fan of halo! if you ever wanna play sometime feel free to add me on steam as Tylergube616 or xbox live as CN xDelta 616. I hope this will resolve our differences.
Will this one be ported to PC like Halo CE and Halo 2, who knows. Lets hope so.
How come people disliked Halo 3? I really liked the multiplayer, well, until you had to buy every single fucking map pack to get to play with 16 players. That's when I stopped playing, don't know if it has changed yet.
Map packs go free after a while I believe. So if you just wait it'll all be there for you.
Map packs go free after a while I believe. So if you just wait it'll all be there for you.
If I recall, the last one (Mythic?) won't. This 'close' to Reach anyways, I won't be buying it. If it goes free, though, I'll start my Halo career once again.
The gameplay looks fun but this new engine you're all raving about looks pretty similar to the previous one. From the video it doesn't look like a huge improvement over Halo 3, but I haven't read anything so I'm watching this completely out of context. I'm not saying it's an expansion, but it doesn't look like it will be as splendid as you all hope. Maybe I'm just a little pessimistic after ODST. Also what happened to facepunch's attitude regarding Halo as a game for 12 year olds? This positive support for the franchise is really.. heartening.
I think you mean "the art style is kinda similar so it must be the same." It's going to be Halo of course. I'd have it no other way, but it looks like it will be fresh.
half life 2 episodes
Key word: "episodes". As in "episodic gaming". As in "expansions". As in "not sequels". As in "not fucking full price games".
There is one reason why I'm not going to play it. Not because I don't like halo. It's because I think Bungie should have stopped at Halo 3. They are just ruining the Halo series now.
Also what happened to facepunch's attitude regarding Halo as a game for 12 year olds? This positive support for the franchise is really.. heartening.
They're all playing MW2.
How come people disliked Halo 3?
Because for me, it as essentially a betrayal of what Halo was. I was all hyped by the really cool diorama trailers, but in the end the story they had for 3 was a real kick in the gut. I mean where do all those trailers fit in in regards to the story? NOWHERE. None of the battles felt all that cool, and frankly I wish I had seen more of the iconic halo enemy- the elites rather than a bunch of fucking overgrown apes. Brutes never really had any appeal to me. They were neither threatening, nor were they smart. To top it off they included one of the most annoying enemies in the series- drones. The only redeeming aspect of 3 was that it had grunts. Hell, they didn't even introduce the Flood properly. No buildup just *ship pops in* "Here they are!" I had also really wanted another split story between the Arbiter and the MC, I thought that was really neat, and I liked the change in perspective. On to why I hate Halo 3 MP: Basically the shift from mid-long combat and weaponry to almost exclusively close range melee. Also the inclusion of several redundant grenades, and weapons. For instance: why would I use the SMG or human pistol when I could just use the AR which has twice as much power and accuracy? Or; Why would I use spikers or SMGs? They seem to be pretty much the same. The Halo 3 magnum was probably the worst iteration of the magnum yet. Utterly, and completely fucking useless. I also hated the fact that there was no true successor to Blood Gultch/Coagulation. Valhalla is meant to be it, but it doesn't even feel like its going in the same damn direction as the previous two. Not to mention a complete overhaul of the color pallet used, and the elimination of the bend the original map had. And last but not least the sound. Particularly on the AR. Sounds like they took the water jug from their office, and emptied it in the ground, merely making the glugging noise a bit louder before putting it in the game.
Let's see here... (Opinion answers in bold)
Because for me, it as essentially a betrayal of what Halo was. I was all hyped by the really cool diorama trailers, but in the end the story they had for 3 was a real kick in the gut. Agreed, but lots of games do shit like that. Halo 3 just did it overboard. I mean where do all those trailers fit in in regards to the story? NOWHERE. None of the battles felt all that cool, and frankly I wish I had seen more of the iconic halo enemy- the elites rather than a bunch of fucking overgrown apes. I agree here, too; brutes seemed kinda.. Bleh. Brutes never really had any appeal to me. They were neither threatening, nor were they smart. To top it off they included one of the most annoying enemies in the series- drones. You mean the robot drones in the final level, or something else? They weren't THAT annoying, but eh.. The only redeeming aspect of 3 was that it had grunts. Hell, they didn't even introduce the Flood properly. No buildup just *ship pops in* "Here they are!" Agreed here. I had to do a double-take at first to realize what the fuck just happened there. I had also really wanted another split story between the Arbiter and the MC, I thought that was really neat, and I liked the change in perspective. Disagree here. The changing perspectives was 'neat' but disorienting and got rather predictable while also annoying. On to why I hate Halo 3 MP: Basically the shift from mid-long combat and weaponry to almost exclusively close range melee. Also the inclusion of several redundant grenades, and weapons. Agreed. For instance: why would I use the SMG or human pistol when I could just use the AR which has twice as much power and accuracy? Agreed.. Or; Why would I use spikers or SMGs? They seem to be pretty much the same. Disagree, personally. The Spikers seem to do more damage outright, but in slower periods of time. SMG is shit, though, unless you catch your target off-guard. And by that point, you'd probably of already melee'd them to make it easier anywho. The Halo 3 magnum was probably the worst iteration of the magnum yet. Utterly, and completely fucking useless. Disagree, somewhat. The lack of zoom, I understand, pisses people off still. But i've owned people hard using H3's Magnum. Interesting point, and agree. And last but not least the sound. Particularly on the AR. Sounds like they took the water jug from their office, and emptied it in the ground, merely making the glugging noise a bit louder before putting it in the game. Er.. Disagree, but eh. I thought the sounds were okay, nothing outstanding really.
I hope they keep the power of the Magnum from ODST. ODST's Magnum was a refreshing flashback from Halo 1.
This makes me want to buy ODST.
