They should have an ending for people who are terrible at the game, where they end up dying so much GLaDOS just gives up on you and shuts off the lights.

Yea but a lot of people are going to be angry when they spent hundreds of thousands of dollar and spent hundreds of thousands of hours working to only get it an hour early.

One day (at best) early on a work week where most of us have school and/or work to do is not exactly a welcoming prize after toiling around with some Indie games.
It would have been much better if it was just unlocked early Friday like we were led to believe.

I'm tempted to idle Audiosurf overnight, but I really don't think my computer should go through that just so Portal can be released at 3am on Tuesday instead of 5am.
