I did this. It took me six hours of playing that SAME DAMN SONG, but I did it. You also need the clean finish bonus if you use this method. I almost lost it, but there was a companion cube in place of the VERY LAST block. I felt like a boss after completing it.
I have a feeling that "The Device Has Been Modified" is going to be the most hated song in the world after all this potato nonsense.

Near the end of the song try to get rid of all the blocks in your inventory thing and don't get anymore; There's a 25% bonus for having it clean at the end.
