Doesn't every completed bar reduce the time limit somewhat? Or does the earlier release only happen when all of them are full?
The latter. If the former were true the projected completion date would be sooner than it currently is. Right now it matches up pretty much perfectly with the original release date.
You guys realize this isn't going to happen right?
Not with that attitude it isn't. :colbert:
Completed bars knock time off until it's released. Complete them all and it's released on the spot.
No they don't. You have to do them all to get it released. Individuals don't actually change the time.
The latter. If the former were true the projected completion date would be sooner than it currently is. Right now it matches up pretty much perfectly with the original release date.
Completing TWEOTW shaved off 50 minutes of the countdown.
Completing TWEOTW shaved off 50 minutes of the countdown.
Then why is the countdown still pointing to the original date of April 18th at Midnight? :colbert: And it's seriously not going to happen. By the time every single bar was filled it'd be the 19th already. Maybe a couple hours before that. But I really doubt Valve is going to call/email every single game retailer in the world carrying their product and tell them to release it a couple hours early.
No they don't. You have to do them all to get it released. Individuals don't actually change the time.
yes they do, when WEOTW finshed, it knocked a nice 50 minutes of the timer.
Then why is the countdown still pointing to the original date of April 18th at Midnight? :colbert:

08:57 - Default boot scheduled to finish in ##:##:##
Is the original countdown. Compare them.
You guys realize this isn't going to happen right? You have roughly 2 days and roughly 14-15 hours.
Why such the Pessimist? Besides today is Saturday, the weekend, there will be more people on today and tomorrow then there was yesterday, it will go up faster. There is a reason valve did this on the weekend.
We've knocked off 16 hours so far. we are doing FINE.
Is the original countdown. Compare them.
It still matches with April 18th at Midnight. Pretty sure they're just fucking with us.
i just got the golden potato for you bastards you better be happy
The game will be released probably on a early Monday or late Monday.
71:27:39 08:57 - Default boot scheduled to finish in 72:17:58 guys same time
I could go get the potato for Defense grid, but I'm not going to be bothered to redownload it.

And if it does I'll be really pissed off because I have my week planned around Portal 2's release and it being released early or late will fuck up the only two days I have off.
So what do the potatos do to help the countdown? Act as a multiplier or something? EDIT : Apparently they do.
I only have super meat boy I literally only just pre-ordered portal 2, Ive been sawing logs like a bitch for the past few days to pay for it.
It still matches with April 18th at Midnight. Pretty sure they're just fucking with us.
The game was originally scheduled for 7AM PST on April 19th.
Not pessimism, realism. It isn't going to happen. You dick.
Not pessimism, realism. It isn't going to happen. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
It still matches with April 18th at Midnight. Pretty sure they're just fucking with us.
Except the original release date was 7AM :v:
Even if we finished 3 games by 12AM that leaves 10, 3 games a day is still Tuesday.
The game was originally scheduled for 7AM PST on April 19th.
Not at Gamestop :v: They're releasing it at Midnight on April 18th along with Mortal Kombat 5. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
Except the original release date was 7AM :v:
Except not at Gamestop where I preordered it lol
Not at Gamestop :v: They're releasing it at Midnight on April 18th along with Mortal Kombat 5. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline] Except not at Gamestop where I preordered it lol
The PC version? You still won't be able to play it until valve unlocks it.
Btw guys the 71 23 18 thing is for the defualt clock, not happened yet.
The PC version? You still won't be able to play it until valve unlocks it.
Like hell I won't. I'll unplug my computer's ethernet cable and install/play it.
Except not at Gamestop where I preordered it lol
Hello Mr. Idon'treadshit [editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
Like hell I won't. I'll unplug my computer's ethernet cable and install/play it.
Not how it works.
I'll make it work that way. Anyway you guys are so damn adamant you're changing the release date, if so, then the 7am bullshit doesn't apply and my plan still works. I win.
Except not at Gamestop where I preordered it lol
Then you have nothing to be afraid of, because if Steam gets an early release, retail is still the same time as scheduled.
I'll make it work that way. Anyway you guys are so damn adamant you're changing the release date, if so, then the 7am bullshit doesn't apply and my plan still works. I win.
You lost when you preordered from Gamestop. Who the fuck does that? God damn. Buy it from Steam.
I think we'll be around 50% by Midnight EST. That is, if we stay around the current progression rate. But today is the weekend so we will see an increase in users.
