Go away you
who said you need to really playing the game because steam tracks your mouse/keyboard movement, so you cant idle?
Hmm, it picks up my mouse movements but it's ignoring keystrokes.
Ok, it works in notepad, super meat boy just doesn't acknowledge them.
I don't know about you, but the very slow progress is actually quite frustrating. The projected time is like 45min early despite the work of so many people. I really hope Valve has another plan to speed this up.
Just bought the Potato Sack, gonna do my part because I really want Portal 2
Holy hell, I broke 2.0 MB/s, new record.
I don't think valve realized that many people who just spent 50$ on their new game are not willing to shell out another 40$ for some indie games only to get an early release.
It actually takes less time for any particular game if nobody buys it.

Yes, when it was first announced, it really seemed like it was going somewhere and it was really in our hands when Portal 2 was launched. It's become clear that it's actually far more limited.
NOBODY BUY THEM TO TRY AND HELP. IT WON'T HELP, IT HINDERS! The bars are based on how many people own the game. Buying = More owners = Harder bars!

Actually I think it's based off the amount of sales when the power up started.
Has anyone here ever used distributed computing grid projects before? All those @Home projects from BOINC and Folding@Home? You are SUPPOSED to idle these games, leave them in background minimized. The very point of distributed computing is to have unused 'idle' processing time to be put to use. And no, you cant run multiple games, this goes by steamstats, you don't count as more than one person, steam will only recognize one game.

Same thing here, macro method didn't work..
Killing Floor is indie?
Killing Floor is indie?
Tripwire isn't that big, actually.

I left Amnesia and Audiosurf open last night because that's all I have and although steam only showed my presence in one, after I closed them, my times for each game increased. Does this still mean that only one contributed time?

According to an email from valve, only the game steam community shows you playing will be counted.
Everyone hurry, tell all the Asian gold farmers they have something better to work for! They would cut the time in half if they knew about Portal being released early!

This pretty much summed up what I was trying to say.
The ARG is fun, I'm not mad or frustrated it just seems like so much effort has had such a minimal impact but has worked out great for Valve as they'll be getting loads of profit and just need to release Portal 2 a couple hours earlier.
All this effort and the game will probably only end up being released a few hours earlier
Cogs is catching up to AaaAaa, so i guess everyone will be doing split up work to move both bars.
I'm not feeling optimistic about this anymore

Only a couple hundred more potatoes for 250,000.
Killing Floor is indie?
Tripwire was first a team modders. Their first game was Red Orchestra: Combined Arms. They got so popular and became indie devs.
Even Killing Floor was a mod before it went into retail.
So has it been confirmed that all the bars do need to be filled for the game to release? Cause that's really never going to happen with some of these games.

They said back in February that Portal 2 was basically done.
"We just finished Portal 2," said Newell according to GamerZines. ""It's pretty much put to bed and we're just waiting for final approvals and to get the discs manufactured."
They're just toying with us (and our wallets). It's a pretty god marketing drive, though.

Exactly 50 minutes and 19 seconds, for your information.

the ball was a mod too..
I told you, they calculated it so we couldn't cut a lot even if every fucking user was playing.
