I think the 20 something thousand people playing CSS should help out.
You would think that if GLaDOS was actually trying to re-boot herself she would use CSS and not indie games. She'd have been online in like five minutes. :v:
Only thing is...if there could be a 50% release, then what happens at 100%?
Episode 3.
Only thing is...if there could be a 50% release, then what happens at 100%? Not that we'd ever find out, considering that 100% would never be reached due to the fact that everybody will be playing Portal 2.
Nothing; the percent would be gone

Not that we'd ever find out, considering that 100% would never be reached due to the fact that everybody will be playing Portal 2.
It will probably just say something like "Using potato reserves to complete remaining computations" Or something like that and jump up to 100%. At least I hope so. I also don't know how potatoes can make computations. But hey, we're using a portal gun.
Link to video & time this happened? I'm watching the Meet Wheatley trailer on the part where [sp]GlaDOS begins powering up, and I haven't found any indication of a power meter.[/sp] (Sorry for earlier lack of spoilers, didn't see your post about it being non-trailer info)
Im not posting spoiler material videos or images so you're on your own.

Either way, if we released at 50% it'd be the end of the powerup.
Im not posting spoiler material videos or images so you're on your own.
Just ignore that request, I thought it was from some kind of trailer I missed out on.
I am certain it won't release at 50% percent.
what a downer debbie
I am certain it won't release at 50% percent.
Even though it would go with the 50% off thing.
I mean, whats the reason it would be at 50%? that doesnt even make sense unless she uses the potatoes as a power source and not a multiplier
what a downer debbie
oh god 44.3%
20 bucks says our influence on Portal 2's release is an illusion. And Valve kept the mechanisme of the timer vague on purpose so they can speed it up or slow it down so Portal 2 gets released on whatever time they had already planned.
I mean, whats the reason it would be at 50%? that doesnt even make sense unless she uses the potatoes as a power source and not a multiplier
Who cares, let's just finish AAAAAAAA and work our way to 50%.
Stop getting my hopes up about this 50% shit!
This is just a BIG marketing scheme to get use to buy a 38 dollar pack. It really is, they set the bar high on purpose...
This is just a BIG marketing scheme to get use to buy a 38 dollar pack. It really is, they set the bar high on purpose...
Super interesting, but some of us are still working on it with hopes of an early release. Cant you just let us dream.
Even though it would go with the 50% off thing.
Shit, that's right.
Cant you just let us dream.
Evidently not. But yeah, while its clearly a cheap marketing plan, might as well try at it.
This is just a BIG marketing scheme to get use to buy a 38 dollar pack. It really is, they set the bar high on purpose...
I bought the pack because of all the games it had for such a low price, then gave away my extra copies :3:
it's Laidlaw's fault
How so?
What are the chances that this is Valve's April Fools joke.
What are the chances that this is Valve's April Fools joke.
Very high, so high the jokes not funny anymore
What are the chances that this is Valve's April Fools joke.
It sure as hell is a giant April Fools joke already, they took a bunch of games completely irrelevant to portal, put them in a pack, and people buy the games simply because they want to get the portal 2 related stuff. It's ridiculous IMO.
Honestly the whole GLaDOS@home thing is just really stupid, the most this has gotten to is by one day early and that isn't even really significant for a early release date. It's been nearly 3 fucking days and the progress meter isn't even at %50.
Oh what you guys are all now turning against it? Gee, how dare Valve help Indie Devs sell their games and gain popularity. How cheap, unfunny, cruel, and terrible of them!

How cheap, unfunny, cruel, and terrible of them!
I'm fine with the potato sack itself, it's just that they could of done a much better way to promote it than have people buy it just so then they could idle all night long in hopes of the early release to a game that isn't even in the fucking pack.
Oh what you guys are all now turning against it? Gee, how dare Valve help Indie Devs sell their games and gain popularity. How cheap, unfunny, cruel, and terrible of them!
Its the way they presented it...
Oh what you guys are all now turning against it? Gee, how dare Valve help Indie Devs sell their games and gain popularity. How cheap, unfunny, cruel, and terrible of them!
It's just old now. We've gotten the idea, they want us to buy the pack with the indie games, we have it, it's not funny anymore, it's grueling, and no one is even playing them legit, they are just idling.
