All of that effort for getting the game 5 hours~ earlier then the official release time, I really dont see the sense for anyone to be doing any of this as Valve trying to:

I like Valve and all but atleast do something that will make the game come a day or two earlier, this whole event is well thought and they managed to predict how many players will be participating.

There's no point even trying to get it released early at this point, there's no way the required amount of CPUs will be reached in any significant amount of time before the ACTUAL release date. I know it's probably just to get publicity for indie developers, but god damn.

Yes, we get it, it's EXTREMELY unlikely we get it unlocked at 50%, but not everyone is a pessimistic manchild that cant handle disappointment and/or suspense.
Portal 2 will come out 2.49 hours early now. We can do even better though.

I hate Valve for doing it, they used to make such fun events but not anymore, Now you must buy games that has nothing to do with Valve or anything to participate.

I do agree that the ARG's end result is a bit underwhelming, but it's definitely nothing to rage over or hate Valve over. They promised us nothing. They kept saying that it will be released on the 19th at 7 AM. That's the only thing they promised. Anything else is a bonus.
