SNIP I AM THE HUGEST FUCKING IDIOT
I FELL FOR THE OLDEST CRASH IN THE BOOKS
Invalid ogg-comment version, file: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\stalker call of pripyat\gamedata\sounds\main_menu\main_theme.ogg
HAHAHAHA
[editline]3rd April 2013[/editline]
Well fuck now I'm getting a "there are no more files" error on startup even though I'm using a fixed menu_theme.ogg. WHAT IS MISSING, TELL ME OH MIGHTY XRENGINE
[editline]3rd April 2013[/editline]
And on the next crash it's gone. All I get now at the end of my xray log is this:
stack trace:
0023:6CD42E44 d3d11.dll
0023:6CD57D8C d3d11.dll
0023:6CD03EBB d3d11.dll
0023:08F3B8FA xrRender_R3.dll
[editline]3rd April 2013[/editline]
Hmm, looks like running under DX10 or DX11 causes the crashes. Oh well, I didn't really want sun rays, DoF or wet surfaces anyway

My brain couldn't imagine the Crysis voice saying that so it sounded like the UT99 announcer
So, anyone know why CoP would crash on startup if DX10 or DX11 are being used?
So that last Survarium vid pretty much confirms full body awareness then?

GPU doesn't support DX10/11
OS doesn't support DX10/11
Drivers aren't up to date
DirectX isn't up to date
user.ltx file is broken, rename it and let it regenerate
CoP is broken, validate/reinstall game
Shit mod
@ManRod some of the flowers standout like they're some sort of colllectible things.

Vostok Games got their priorities straight :v:
So I got back to Clear Sky. Entered Garbage. Helped loners to take on some bandits. Cleared a bandit outpost. Walked into the Bandit trap. Lost everything including a Vintar. Then I made a few steps and died because I had a small radiation poisoning, and bandits took all of my items.
FUCK.
I missed thee, STALKER.

Using a GTX670
Running Win7 x64
Drivers are current.
Ran DXSETUP in the CoP game directory
Have generated at least a dozen new user.ltx
Validated, reinstalled, and validated again
Tried running vanilla game.
Still crashes.

I had the exact same problem once. It took a reinstall to fix (files got corrupted somehow). If you say you've tried that then I am all out of suggestions.

This... this makes me want a STALKER roguelike with a permanent world save.
dem LA screenies are sexyyyy
I just came to the realization that Big Mt scientists who transfered their minds into robots and now live in a secluded location guarded by technologies from anyone outside are c-consciousness. And Lobotomites (Humans who are captured by them and became mindless bodies wandering and attacking you) are Monolith soldiers!

(It's also stronger)
(This post isn't mean to be taken like a serious speculation, I'm just having fun noticing this things)
Oh god, looks like the Dawn base defending was done by the same guy, who made Noah's barge mission.
Isn't it supposed to be Duty territory? Because all I do is fighting ridiculous amount of mutants every time.

Are you talking about the first or the last mission in Dawn?
The first one is piss easy, the last one is impossible, literally.
Well that's not a good sign. I started SoC up for the first time and when I went to change the settings, Stalker turned into a big black block that I couldn't even close with the task manager.

You forgot "just because"
Where the hell is the "unique artifact" in Cordon in SGM 2.2? Some guide on the Steam forums just says "in the heavily radiated junk area near the bridge" which doesn't really help because I don't know of any heavily radiated junk areas near the bridge.

The only place which has super heavy radiation near the millitary checkpoint (with the train and stuff) is the area around the tree trunk.
It's between the checkpoint and the elevator. But that's defeinitely not the place because there aren't any artifact there. This mission was what got me off 2.2
Maybe it's in a stash spot or something.
You forgot "just because"
That's what really weirds me out. Shit worked fine under DX10 with my current hardware, but last year I had to replace the board (with the same model, it was under warranty) and next thing I know CoP is allergic to DX10/11. Beats the hell out of me why/

There is a space anomaly above the bridge. By climbing and teetering on top of the broken constructs you can reach it. Have a detector open when you jump in it. When you come out you'll be bathing in radiation but you should find your artifact.
