The lists of preferred stalker mods now shows the error 404. And btw, is there a mod for cop that adds the possibility of making your own character?
Yeah, Rasputinator's migrating his mod across to a new host or something.
I really need to post in here more. I kinda lost my interest in stalker recently, what with STALKER 2 not happening and all... :( Still, gonna reinstall CoP and give SGM2.2 a go, tried it before but I really hated how drawn out the cordon section was - so this time I'll use the mod that skips it.
So, a widescreen irons fix for SGM 2.2? Sounds nice. I kinda figured they were a bit off. Considering the hip reticule and irons zoom have a massive consistency on your screen.
"Izlom" makes the creature sound a bit more mystical while "Fracture" makes me think of a crippled person. [editline]herp[/editline] To make this pageking less of a waste here's a cool wallpaper : [t]http://i.imgur.com/0jlT0jE.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/XVvDyHE.jpg[/t] Not entirely sure if it's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but I suspect it is.
Pretty damn sure that those are from Metro: Last Light.
They don't look like either game to me.
The christmas one is probably original, looks like the guy has some sort of laser rifle or something.
They might be from New Union or just completely unrelated things.
Also I wouldnt compare graphics enhancement mods with LA, because its not on the same level. LA during the years of hard work, and ofc with the asistance of gsc became a separate game, with all of its sickness, and faults, slowly it becomes what we wanted to achieve. It has only new levels, new story, new alife, new script system, new movies, new scenes, new sounds, and new dx10 quality render with all possible effects and sh*ts, and so on. We did not want to change the zone outlook. Many people imagine -after playing fallout- the chernobyl zone dead, dark, dried and brown. However if you live nearby, or just watch some recent documentary about it, you will see its living like any other place, you couldnt even tell the difference, if they wouldnt say its "the zone". We kept this green living world, which you could also see in the Strugartsky's stalker movie, or in new documentaries as I mentioned. Need to say, the renders and engine modifications couldnt be made without the help of gsc, so we owe them a lot. Our game is long left the mod stage, and if we can reach the next lvl set by gsc, it will be moved to games section. We already discussed it with moddb admins, nothing will be lost, all commments and screens will remain, just the link will change. Please stay calm, and try to support us -at least- morally. It helps a lot!
hmm
Maybe someone running SGM2.2 can help me out. Call of Pripyat crashes any time I try to start a new game. I click start and let everything load, the loading bar fills up, etc. But then I get a generic "This program has stopped responding" error and crash to desktop. I've tried reinstalling the mod and Call of Pripyat completely and running the game in admin mode but no go on any of it. Anyone else have this issue and know how to resolve it? Forgot to mention I'm running "All-in-one" so I don't have to install everything individually. Edit: Nevermind, it decided it wanted to work out of the blue. Such is life in the zone.
You need to run as administrator.
it's been a couple months so i'm gonna ask again. any news on redux 2.0?
The only iron sights fix I can find is for SGM 2.0, does anyone have an updated version? Or are we supposed to use that one and it actually works just fine, and I need to shut up and get back to the burner field?

ZRP 1.07 R4 is out. List of major things changed/added/etc http://www.gsc-game.com/main.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr&thm_page=1&thm_id=11786&page=285&sec_id=16#370462

what fucking difficulty are you playing on, why are there some guys that survive half a mag
what fucking difficulty are you playing on, why are there some guys that survive half a mag
One of the easier ones probably.
One of the easier ones probably.
no actually vanilla SoC has really fucked immunities if i recall correctly
I'm fairly sure I'm playing on the difficulty above Casul
what fucking difficulty are you playing on, why are there some guys that survive half a mag
Looks like normal vanilla SoC on any difficulty to me.
Vanilla military guys were always bullet sponges if you're not aiming for the head.
I'm considering getting a STALKER game at the next steam sale. Which one is the "best"? (In your opinions, in terms of fear factor, compatibility, gameplay, etc)
Don't be peasant, buy all of them. They are all good for different reasons.
I wouldn't recommend playing CS until after you've played SoC though.
hmm
sounds good to me, green-lush Zone is exactly what it should be
Which one is the "best"?
Like K1ngo64 pointed out, it's almost mandatory to buy all of them to get the complete experience, to only play one is like watching only one movie from the LotR trilogy. The best game to start out with is Shadow of Chernobyl since it does the best job in easing the new player into the game and it's widely considered the definitive stalker experience so if you like SoC you'll probably like the rest of the series as well.
in terms of fear factor, compatibility, gameplay, etc)
SoC contains the most "spooky" out of the games. They're still nowhere near horror titles so keep that in mind. In terms of gameplay CoP is probably the most advanced but it's a pretty short game and expects the player to have played at least Shadow of Chernobyl first. As far as compatibility issues go they should work alright on modern OS's but Clear Sky is badly optimized so it may not run smoothly even on a rig that can max out Crysis 3.
I have never encountered this. 60fps on my old computer, 60fps on my new computer.
The functionality of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games is incredibly sporadic, for some it works without issue and for others not so much. I don't have trouble running Clear Sky on my new computer but my older laptop that ran SoC and CoP fine was croaking when playing CS on minimum settings.
Which one is the "best"?
We really can't say since there's no established best game, we all have different opinions, for example Doneeh fucking loves clear sky.
it's been a couple months so i'm gonna ask again. any news on redux 2.0?
2014 will be very exciting.
I wouldn't recommend playing CS until after you've played SoC though.
well, clearly! SoC is the first in the series, after all
