I actually miss the English voice acting since Doom's merge uses the Russian voices.
Sure, everything sounds much better and more serious, but I miss "WE CAN'T JUST GIVE INTO THEM" and "YOU DON'T THINK THEY'LL SHOOT HIM AS SOON AS THEY HAVE THE ARTIFACTS?!" in Yanov. :v:

And I miss being a statue and spilling the beans.
It is always fun to alternate
Such is life in the Zone.

Im surprised only one of them is squatting.
Should I buy Clear Sky? I loved Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat, though I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about Clear Sky, so I'm not sure whether or not I should.
;40245284']At the time almost 7 000. Now around 12 000.
How do you sleep at night?

On a pile of dum-dums, apparently.

It is a good game, what are you worried about?

If you liked the other games, you should.
I like CS quite a bit, but I kinda feel like it's one of those games where it is a better game to jump into after having played SoC. It's a lot more populated and has less of that Desolate atmosphere that both SoC and CoP have. (though Red Forest is amazing)
I reckon Clear Sky was better than Shadow of Chernobyl

I didn't like its atmosphere in terms of colors and stuff. Too many warm colors.
you cold son of a bitch
Are there any good free roam style mods for SoC or CoP? It's been a LONG time since I have played either. Kind of getting in the mood to DL one of them again and give it a spin.
Though, I kind of want a free roam experience. No real missions. Raw survival kind of ordeal. New weapons and stuff maybe - but I would not mind a mod where I can just start off, go anywhere, and survive about.

SoC: Doom's FreeLURK
CoP: None, IIRC. There was a mod that change the spawn location and all enemies were zombies. I forgot the name of it.

CoP already has freeplay, so SGM make it better with adding factions quests and more locations.
Today I learned that bloodsuckers are not daleks. They can and will use stairs.
They also survive a direct hit from a 40mm nade launched with a bulldog 6.
All of my nope.

Playing on master w no crosshair btw, thanks to zezi.
Thank you zezi, for showing me the light.
I require a sacrifical lamb every day at noon, GMT+2
How do I keep Tarasov and his team alive? The Monolithians completely decimate them at the 1st wave.
Just happened to me:
Was walking down some road then, I heard some sniper shot, and I fell to the ground. DEAD.
Turned out that it was some Alpha detachment sniper.
Jesus christ thats scary.

That's one of the thing's that made it for me. Having a populated Zone always appealed to me, but I sorta wished the NPC's would try looting buildings and the "dungeons" and labs and shit in CoP too. Kinda like that one guy in OGSE with the flamethrower looking for documents.
I sorta wished the NPC's would try looting buildings and the "dungeons" and labs and shit in CoP too.
NPCs doing that sort of thing dynamically would be an absolute dream of mine, especially if said dungeon would be a tunnel network functioning as a connector and shortcut to various levels so you could for example take a shorter route to a nearby territory at the risk of running into members of a hostile faction roaming the same catacombs as you do.
Clear Sky kind of hinted at this sort of thing in the Merc camp mission but then the tunnel blew up and you never got to explore any of it. Then Way of the Wolf teased us with a similar thing and the concept was really amazing but ultimately proved too ambitious.
Having a populated Zone always appealed to me.
The camps of NPCs felt really welcoming and cozy in Clear Sky but the problem was that there were too many friendlies and neutrals and not enough non-faction wars related hostile activity in the form of bandits, military, zombies or mercenaries : either the map was being used for Faction Wars or jack shit happened there after the mission that took place there. And even during the Faction Wars there was never any danger of the enemy reaching your base, even in the case you didn't actively fight in the faction war (barring maybe the bandit base in the early patches since Duty always steamrolled the base, killing the leaders). Luckily TFW is a godsend in that regard and really unlocks a lot of the previously lost potential of the game.
ugh clear sky keeps crashing when I talk to people. Is it because I have dx 10 enabled? I'll be talking to someone in the clear sky base and it'll lock up and I have to ctrl alt del out of it.

I want this but with S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro.

Seriously It'd be fucking amazing, Imagine trying to get through one of the labs or Agroprom underground with that.
God I want to try that thing out so much.
I think my game broke at some point. I'm at the vortex anomalies in the tunnel on the way to Pripyat and the snorks and hamsters aren't spawning like they're supposed to. Any ideas what went wrong?
Got back into CoP. Is it a good idea to sprint towards the sound gunfire and wait to totally vulture-mode gunfights?
It's what I do. Sometimes I finish what the losing side started, too. Dick move, but y'know what fuck them for not all dying at once and giving me all of their stuff.
Doing the SoC freedom mission with turning in the "rebel" duty forces outside their fort, shooting them all lowers my rep enough with duty that they shoot on sight apparently, any ideas on how to do it??
Do the mission without shooting any of them.
If I don't shoot the freedom detachment gets absolutely slaughtered.

Difficulty is master.
[editline]12th April 2013[/editline]
I guess I could sneak an explosive barrel all the way from the freedom base and damage a few exo guys, but it'll be difficult :P
So I downloaded the SGM 2.2 all-in-one on moddb over the course of at least an hour. I go to extract it, when suddenly

The crc check failed on TWO TEXTURES, but since 7zip is a piece of shit, I have to redownload the entire archive.
