You monster, he wasn't going to get in your way and you still killed him. Poor Bob the bloodsucker.
RIP in peace. [IMG_thumb]http://i.cubeupload.com/KbVXuH.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
So, I'm almost finished with AMK for SHoC, and was looking into some mods for CoP that I can start playing. Misery looks pretty nice, but I know that some people here aren't too big of fans of it. Are there any issues with it that really result in it suffering?
Please play vanilla CoP first...
OK I HAVENT PLAYED STALKER FOR A WHILE. i've checked the pages back what mods to use for CoP?
Are there any issues with it that really result in it suffering?
Here's some of the problems I had with Misery but your mileage may vary : -Harassment effects like blurring/double vision and hand sway if you get too tired -After dying your camera does an awkward drunken sway instead of going straight to your ragdoll -The mod forces you to sleep (see first complaint) but sleeping even little makes you really hungry and being hungry in Misery absolutely kills your stamina which is already kind of off-balance -Stamina system is weird in that in the start of the game you run out stamina incredibly fast even if you have barely 18 kgs worth of stuff in your backpack but later in the game with the artifacts and suit upgrades you'll have much better stamina even if you're carrying more equipment. If you're fine with this then it's not really a problem -Scopes are replaced with these kind of awkward looking crosshairs and they're slightly off target -If you're not familiar with what's blowout cover and what's not in CoP then too bad since the game won't tell what is and what's not blowout cover on the map so that's something to definitely keep in mind Other than that the mod is okay and has nice scavenging aspect to it's gameplay.
what mods to use for CoP?
Rebalances that keep most of the base game intact : Redux Misery IWA /CfP M.S.O (absolutely amazing A.I / A-Life overhaul, compatible with AtmosFear 3 and AbNat 2) Mods that include a lot of new content : SGM (tons of content, kind of low-ish quality control) Winter of Death (ditto) Way to Pripyat (total conversion mod with a new story, focuses mostly on Clear Sky maps) Swartz mod (has M.S.O and a bunch of nifty features but totally fucked up economy that is even easier than vanilla)
Please play vanilla CoP first...
Did this, can recommend.
Did this, can recommend.
I was recommend to do this as well, and it turned out to be worth it. You appreciate mods a lot more afterwards.
preach it boys, preach it
You never get your first playthrough back, so make it a mod free one.
Is it possible to re-enable selling of weapons in SGM ?
Is it possible to re-enable selling of weapons in SGM ?
They're sellable they just have to have a condition bar that is no lower than 3 bars missing iirc.
Nope, not even newly repaired guns can be sold, SGM 2.2 by the way. I also changed buy_condition_factor of all trader files to 0.0, still they dont buy my weapons.
Speaking of trader strangeness, Owl's inventory is always completely empty except for what seems to be his own personal equipment, like 30 shotgun shells and some 9x18mm ammo. [editline]15th April 2013[/editline] Occasionally he'll have some leather jackets.
Well iunno anything about sgm 2.2 yet so have fun with that. ³⋅⁰ ˢᵒᵒᶰ ˢᵗᵃᶫᵏᵉʳ⋅⋅⋅

You need a regular trader, like Owl or Hawaiian. However, they will take some time to reach.
No idea if y'all have seen this but...
The SSAO looks like some weird foreign CGI film.

Why do I have a horrible load time in Clear Sky? I run the game on max settings @ 60 fps and I have good specs i7 930, 6 gigs of RAM and ATI 5870.
Into the fog I go~ [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19779215/Photos/STALKER/2013-04-14_00002.jpg[/img_thumb] I'm going through two playthroughs at once, sometimes SGM 2.2 and sometimes Redux. It's pretty fun. -redux- [img_thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19779215/Photos/STALKER/2013-04-11_00006.jpg[/img_thumb]
Slow HDD?
Well other games load quickly, its a WD Caviar Black 7200rpm so I would not think its the hdd.
How long are the loadtimes? STALKER isnt known for the fastest loadtimes but it's not that bad.
2-3 mins lol
That's above average.
